Chapter 51, Grade B Research Lab: Blood Magic Potions
Chapter 51, Grade B Research Lab: Blood Magic Potions
After parting ways with Hughes, Leo returned to Esmond's Hut.
The lizardman servants waited at the door.
When the lizardman servant saw Leo, he bowed his head and said, "Greetings, Wizard Leo. Wizard Tesla said you should go to him now."
"OK."
Leo was somewhat surprised to hear this, as this was the first time Tesla had taken the initiative to contact him.
When Leo arrived at his mentor's office, Chris was outside the door.
Leo said, "Chris, you were called here too?"
"Yes," Chris said. "I don't know what it's about, but they called you along too."
The two entered the office but did not see Sally; only the Wizard Tesla was inside.
On Tesla's desk was a thick stack of papers.
These are research reports from graduate students at the Esmond Assembly.
Tesla said, "Leo, Chris, you're here."
Leo asked, "Wizard Tesla, what brings you here?"
"It's about the research labs," Tesla said. "Sally and I have been helping you submit your resumes to the research labs under Esmond's umbrella, and coincidentally, one of them accepted your resume today."
"This research lab is a Class B potion wizard research lab."
"I think this is a rare opportunity; would you like to give it a try?"
Leo thought for a moment and said, "No problem, please let me try."
Chris added, "I'm interested too. My overall assessment isn't enough to cover the first year's tuition."
"Alright," Tesla said with a smile, "then I'll stamp it for you. They seem to be in a hurry for manpower, saying you can go over now."
"Then we'll be right there."
Leo and the other person said.
After getting the address from Tesla, Leo and his companion immediately headed to the research lab.
Chris looked at the enormous research building before him and said, "Leo, this place is huge. Are all research labs this big? But I remember the research lab we encountered when we first bought the potion, the one that exploded, wasn't this big."
Leo nodded slightly; that research room was less than half the size of this one.
"Let's go inside."
咚咚
Leo knocked gently on the door and said, "My name is Leo. I was introduced by Wizard Tesla."
"Hello, I'm Chris."
The door opened quickly, and a man emerged from behind.
The man exuded a lazy air; his hair was disheveled, and his face was relaxed.
He looks more like an office worker who has just started his vacation than a researcher.
However, by measuring the magical pressure, Leo could feel the opponent's terrifying magical pressure, which was as deep as the ocean.
This man must be a second-class wizard apprentice.
The man stared at Leo for a while, and when he noticed Leo's hair color, he said in surprise, "I did hear about a new Protoss student this year, but I didn't expect him to be one of the people who came here."
Leo was a little nervous. Could he have encountered a wizard like Ryan who hated Pros?
Yar said, "Haha, don't be nervous, my name is Yar. Our Esmond Gathering has a fairly normal attitude towards Protoss people, after all, there are quite a few Protoss people like you in our Esmond Gathering."
Upon hearing this, Leo's tense muscles gradually relaxed.
Yar said, "You two, come with me."
Leo and Yar followed them inside, but as soon as they entered, Leo's expression turned strange.
In this research room, Leo had expected a great deal of research to be underway, but instead, the people inside were just playing cards out of boredom.
Although Leo didn't know what kind of cards they were playing, he was certain they had nothing to do with research; they were just recreational cards for relaxation.
Chris also examined the cards in the wizards' hands. He seemed to recognize what kind of cards they were and appeared quite interested.
Seeing this, Yar smiled and said, "They're playing Wizard Cards. It's a form of entertainment in the Tower of Dawn. If you have time, you can join in. Wizard Cards are quite good for relaxing."
Upon hearing this, Chris appeared eager to try.
Leo watched Chris's expression from the side and rubbed his temples slightly.
After spending more than a month together, he had come to understand Chris's personality.
He is playful and naive.
Without restraint, this type of personality is easily distracted and unable to concentrate on learning something.
Leo said cautiously, "Wizard Yar. Actually, when Wizard Tesla sent us over, he said your research lab was in dire need of manpower and needed us to come immediately."
Upon hearing this, Yar chuckled and said, "Oh, that's a misunderstanding. Actually, we're not in a rush to hire people. Our research has already come to an end. Don't worry, we weren't just looking for trouble by reviewing your resumes. It's just that our situation is a bit special right now..."
Yar said, "Sit down, and I'll explain it to you slowly."
Leo found a seat, and Yar slowly said, "Actually, our research lab only has about three or four days left. At our current pace, it will be very difficult for us to complete the research in those three or four days; this experiment will basically end in failure. Unless there is a breakthrough or discovery in the experiment, it will be difficult for us to restart it. Therefore, we plan to use the remaining time to help newly promoted graduate students like you."
"That's the reason we recruited you. A B-level research lab resume should be helpful to you."
Upon hearing this, Leo was surprised that the research lab's resume could be so impressive. He thought for a moment and said, "Wizard Yar, does that mean we don't have to do anything?"
"Of course not." Yar shook his head and said, "You still have to be like the new members, responsible for cleaning, organizing the equipment, and doing some odd jobs. Now, you can start by cleaning the lab floor and tables, being careful not to damage the equipment and data."
"Yes, Wizard Yar."
Yar continued, "After you finish these chores, I personally suggest you take a look at the data reports in the lab."
"Once you become a graduate student, you will participate in research in the research lab, and you will have to learn how to write research reports."
"Generally, those who can write reports are more valued when they enter a research lab."
"If you encounter anything you don't understand, feel free to ask us. We're pretty idle these days anyway."
Chris suddenly asked, "Master Wizard Yar, are you only accepting two people this time?"
Upon hearing this, Yar shook his head and said, "Not only that, but only the two of you meet the requirements. Although we want to help you gain some advantages in terms of your resumes, we don't accept just anyone."
"Level 3 mental strength is the minimum requirement."
Chris fell silent.
Tesla probably did submit Jasmine's resume, and the reason she wasn't selected is likely due to this.
"Yes, Wizard Yar."
Leo nodded, then pulled Chris along to start cleaning.
While cleaning, Chris kept getting distracted, his gaze frequently drifting to the group playing Wizard cards in the research room.
