Chapter 126 Receiving Management Allowance
Li Ang stepped forward and presented the application form signed by Olivia with both hands: "I have accomplished my mission, Professor. Miss Olivia has agreed to join the First Special Operations Group. This is her application."
Professor Diana took the light yet significant parchment and her gaze fell on her daughter's slightly immature but clear and accurate signature.
She stared at the autograph for a full three seconds, and then her stern face, as cold as ice, slowly melted, revealing a genuine smile that added a touch of maternal gentleness to her otherwise intimidating features.
"Very good—very good." She raised her eyes, her gaze towards Li Ang filled with even greater admiration.
"I thought it would take some effort, or even be fruitless, but I didn't expect you to persuade her so quickly. It seems that letting you give it a try was the right decision."
She handed back the application form, said no more, and directly fulfilled her previous promise.
She took off the badge from her chest and touched it to the badge on Li Ang's chest, then said, "These 500 contribution points are the reward for successfully persuading her to join."
Professor Diana paused, then added, "Furthermore, now that she's joined the team, the previous promises take effect immediately. As long as Olivia stays in your squad and performs her missions normally, you'll receive an extra 200 contribution points each month as—well, consider it a management allowance. Even if it's less than a month, it'll be counted as a full month."
Leon felt a surge of joy. Although he couldn't see the exact amount in the badge, he believed that someone as important as Professor Dinah wouldn't fool a mere apprentice wizard like himself.
Moreover, the promised management allowance was a whopping 200 contribution points per month! This made Li Ang's heart burn even hotter.
After all, this is almost a stable long-term income, which is undoubtedly a timely help for him who needs a lot of resources to improve himself and his team.
He immediately bowed deeply and said solemnly, "Thank you, Professor! I will do my best to guide Miss Olivia and help her develop within the group."
He considered it for a moment and used the word "guide," after all, the other party was a dragon and the professor's daughter, so saying "manage" or "discipline" didn't seem quite right.
Professor Diana nodded slightly, seemingly satisfied with Li Ang's attitude: "Go ahead, I hope she can persevere."
After leaving Professor Diana's office, Li Ang went straight to the records department at the law enforcement headquarters to submit Sandra Meya and Olivia's application forms for registration.
When the blue-robed wizard in charge of registration saw Olivia's name, a fleeting hint of surprise crossed his face, but he quickly regained his professional seriousness and skillfully completed the data entry.
As evening fell, Li Ang left the archives office, intending to go to the canteen to fill his stomach.
Then he keenly noticed that the atmosphere inside the tower seemed a bit more lively and enthusiastic than usual.
The apprentices and wizards coming and going in the corridor gathered in twos and threes, talking in hushed tones, their eyes filled with excitement and curiosity.
As he walked through a wide corridor connecting the main tower and the Elementalist school area, a group of people approached him.
The leader was an unfamiliar wizard dressed in black robes, exuding a deep aura, and wearing the emblem of the Obsidian Tower on his chest.
Behind him followed more than twenty wizards, four of whom wore blue robes and the rest wore brown robes.
Led by a blue-robed wizard from the enforcement team, they were heading towards the First Dining Hall.
Li Ang glanced around and spotted two familiar figures.
Barton, the mentor of the Change School, and Irene Green, who had a fierce battle with him in the final.
At that moment, Mentor Barton also saw Li Ang. His face immediately lit up with a warm smile, and he greeted him from afar: "Oh? Isn't this young friend Li Ang? What a coincidence!"
Irena's gaze also fell on Li Ang. Her silver hair was still dazzling, and her light blue eyes held a complex mix of emotions, including recognition, a little resentment, and the most basic respect for the strong. She nodded slightly to Li Ang as a sign of acknowledgment.
Li Ang stopped and politely replied, "Mentor Barton, Miss Elena, welcome to Lelita."
Neither of them intended to have a deep conversation; they exchanged a few polite words and then passed each other.
Li Ang understood that the Obsidian Tower delegation had arrived, and it was led personally by a black-robed wizard.
This undoubtedly confirms Deacon Celonst's announcement at the meeting that a joint operation to eradicate the Twilight Shadows is about to begin.
The next day, Li Ang attended the potion class on the fifth floor as usual. Since his first special operations team had not yet met the minimum number of members, he was not assigned any specific tasks and was temporarily on standby.
Just as he was pondering how to recruit the remaining two team members, the law enforcement team badge pinned to his chest vibrated slightly and sent a notification.
He read intently; it was a notification from the records department.
The applications submitted yesterday by Sandra Maya Maxwell and Olivia for joining the team have been officially recorded, and their badges have been made and are ready for collection at any time.
Li Ang immediately went to the archives and successfully obtained two brand-new dual-sword badges, as well as matching leather inner armor.
He took the badge and inner armor back to his dormitory and stored them carefully, without rushing to send them to Maya and Olivia.
Although Deacon Celonst said that the maximum number of team members was ten and that the number could be recruited at will, he also knew that the minimum personnel configuration for the enforcement team to carry out missions was five.
His casualness actually applies to groups of four to ten people. Currently, the team only has three people, including himself, and they are still two short of meeting the basic standards for carrying out the mission.
He planned to distribute the badges once everyone was gathered, which would also serve as a simple team formation ceremony.
Next, Li Ang went to the Wizard Follower Management Office and, exercising his authority as captain, requested the dispatch of three wizard followers to assist with miscellaneous tasks.
Soon, three wizard attendants, two men and one woman, dressed in their robes, came before him to await his instructions.
Li Ang led them to the newly assigned base of the First Special Operations Group, which was still empty and covered in cobwebs.
"Clean this place thoroughly and move all the old, broken tables and chairs away," Li Ang gave his first order.
The three wizards immediately sprang into action, some sweeping the floor and others moving tables, beginning to clean up the initial space belonging to the First Special Operations Group.
After arranging everything, Li Ang didn't waste any precious time and turned to leave immediately, as he still had a lot to do.
His next destination was the Potions School's supply depot.
As soon as he entered, old Mori greeted him warmly with a broad smile.
"You've arrived, Li Ang, oh no, now I should call you Captain Li Ang."
