Chapter 8 Forest Barbie Q
Chapter 8 Forest Barbie Q
When I woke up from my meditation, it was already the morning of the next day.
Gebu rubbed his eyes. He had slept soundly, but his head was still a little dizzy.
It seems that meditation is quite mentally taxing... It has to be done day by day, and can't be rushed.
The little goblin got up from the ground, dusted himself off, and stretched outside the cave.
He suddenly remembered something.
I've learned Fire Arrow! Try it out!
Thinking of this, Gebu's little heart pounded with excitement. He hurriedly moved a few broken jars, found a fallen tree trunk, lined up the jars in a row, and then walked ten steps away.
Okay... what was the spell again... Ignis.
Focus your attention, feel the flow of ether, aim...
"Ignis!"
Whoosh! A flaming arrow flew from Gebu's index finger, spinning uncontrollably. It flew less than five steps before crashing to the ground with a thud, sending dirt flying!
Hot, hot, hot! Gebu quickly shook his fingers and pinched the tips of his ears to cool them down.
Hey, it shot out! But it didn't go very far.
It seems this spell still requires some practice; it's not entirely a magical skill, but also requires a certain level of aiming ability.
Practice, what's there to be afraid of? As long as there's a path to follow, nothing is difficult.
Geb refocused his attention, a stubborn fire shining in his amber eyes.
-----------------
The sun shines brightly in the sky, and the autumn air is crisp and refreshing. Before we knew it, the morning mist had dissipated, and it was noon.
The goblin stared at the fallen tree trunk, sweating profusely. The ground in front of him was riddled with craters, and the small trees around him were either broken or scorched, leaving the entire meadow in ruins.
"Ignis!"
Boom!
A can was hit by a rocket.
"Ignis!"
Bang! Crack!
The second can spun three times in the air before crashing and shattering on the ground.
"Ignis!" "Ignis!" "Ignis!"
The flaming arrows flew out like a machine gun, hitting the tree trunk repeatedly, sending wood chips flying and sparks flying, before finally collapsing in two under the attack of the last fireball.
The wood core had been burned to charcoal, the embers reflecting a dark red hue.
"Huff...huff...hahahaha!" Gebu panted heavily, looking at the tree trunk that had been smashed, and grinned.
I got it!
He spun around in place, his ears twitching excitedly. The little goblin grabbed the Book of Sand and gave the cover a big kiss.
"You're such a precious baby!"
With the Firebolt spell, a level 0 spell, Geb felt more confident. He even became a little overconfident.
In this forest, Gebu is not afraid of any of the large animals he cannot handle, including deer, large bats, and even coyotes of similar size.
Previously, we had to set traps, track, and ambush these medium-sized beasts, but now we can just fight them head-on. A single flaming arrow, even if it doesn't kill them, will be too much for those mindless beasts to resist; they'll just turn and run.
However, if you can do something underhanded, you should do it underhanded; there's no need to take risks.
After the initial euphoria, Gebu felt a bit hungry. He wondered if he should continue eating bear chops... The bear had been lying in its den all day and was starting to smell.
Now that we can all do magic, shouldn't we eat something fresh to celebrate?
The goblin turned its head towards the forest, baring its canine teeth, a sinister glint in its eyes…
-----------------
In the dense forest, a small wild boar with yellow plumage and black spots was dozing off in the bushes.
It was just past noon, and dappled sunlight fell on the thick forest vegetation. It was the hottest time of day. The young wild boar, who had spent the morning foraging with the other pigs, was now fast asleep.
He was only two months old, his body still covered in soft downy fur, and his black nose twitched in his sleep, as if he was dreaming of something fragrant.
"snort……"
The little pig woke up, blinked its tiny eyes, and looked up to sniff. There seemed to be some wonderful scent wafting in the air. The little wild boar shook its head, stood up, and sleepily followed the smell.
The smell was like a big hand grabbing the pig's nose—it wasn't fully awake yet, and it stumbled as it walked. The forest was still too big for it; it took some effort to cross even a single rock or a branch.
However, this little wild boar was quite greedy, and a small obstacle couldn't stop it. It followed the scent and kept going, completely forgetting where its mother and younger siblings were.
By the way, where are they?
The little wild boar looked back. The forest was like a maze, with bushes blocking its way in all directions, and it couldn't tell which way to go for a moment.
The little pig suddenly panicked, circling twice, wanting to squeal but too afraid to. A anxious squeaking sound came from its nostrils. Its little eyes trembled slightly—it had never been separated from its mother since birth. How could everyone be gone when it woke up?
A distant cry came from afar—it sounded like a pig, very high-pitched, as if it were in a hurry.
As if grasping at a straw, the little wild boar raised its head and squealed in response to the sound, then wiggled its four legs and ran towards the direction of the sound.
The sound seemed to be moving around, sometimes near, sometimes far. What happened? Did its mother abandon it? The little wild boar was frantic and stopped trying to hide itself. It hurriedly followed the sound, not even noticing that it had stepped into a mud puddle.
The muddy footprints led deep into the forest. After an unknown amount of time, the little wild boar was exhausted, its cries weakening into gasps and panting. But its mother's voice was very close, just beyond the bushes!
The baby wild boar could almost smell the milky scent from its mother's belly... It smells so good, what is this smell? It's like the charred meat that a family of pigs gnawed on after a forest fire.
It plunged headfirst into the bushes, nudged a path with its nose, and with a whoosh, emerged from the other side of the bushes.
The little wild boar shook off the leaves on its body, looked up, and saw a scene it could not understand at all.
All sorts of animals! So many! Some the piglets recognized, others they didn't. Horned ones, fat ones, thin ones, tall ones, long ones—a group of animals huddled together in a narrow cave. The cave had only one entrance, and inside it was piled high with branches and blades of grass.
These animals don't usually huddle together... but something must have driven them all into the same burrow. The little wild boar cautiously approached the burrow and peered inside.
Behind a tall, horned animal, it saw its black, fat mother!
"Squeak! Squeak!" the little boar cried out urgently. The mother boar seemed to hear her own cries and responded with the same sound. She took off running towards the cave entrance, and just as she reached it, a streak of fire suddenly flew out from the cliff!
boom!
"Squeak!" The mother boar was startled and turned to run back into her burrow.
The baby boar circled in place, while its mother watched anxiously from inside the burrow. The other animals in the cave were the same, afraid to approach the entrance, as if terrified of the firelight that seemed to appear from nowhere.
After a few minutes, there was still no movement. The little boar mustered its courage and walked towards the entrance of the burrow.
The wild boar mother's round eyes were full of encouragement, and her brothers and sisters watched from behind their mother's plump body, seemingly admiring the little wild boar's courage.
The little wild boar slowly approached the entrance to the burrow. It wanted to step inside, but then it smelled the burnt smell on the ground and hesitated.
The slanting sunlight drew a line at the cave entrance; it was bright outside, but dark inside. The little boar and its mother were separated by this line, gazing longingly at each other across the cave entrance.
"squeak!"
"Mom called out."
The mother's call spurred the little boar to make up its mind. It lifted its little leg and resolutely stepped across the entrance to the burrow!
Two pigs, one big and one small, reunited in their burrow. They touched noses and happily spun around in circles. Other piglets joined in, rubbing against the little pigs, and the family enjoyed a heartwarming moment together.
Snapped!
With a crisp sound, a wooden fence fell from the cave entrance, instantly cutting off the sunlight—the cave was plunged into darkness, with only slivers of light shining through the gaps in the fence.
"Squeak?" The little wild boar looked towards the entrance of the burrow.
As if realizing something, the animals—pig's head, deer's head, goat's head… all turned toward the cave entrance.
Against the light, they could only see a small human figure behind the fence, slowly walking to the door. The creature was hunched over, moved in a lewd manner, and was chuckling... its laughter was chilling, like that of a demon.
call.
A spark ignited in the demon's hand, and through the gaps in the fence, the goblin's white, gleaming fangs were reflected.
The little wild boar huddled fearfully behind its mother, its clear eyes reflecting a dazzling flash of fire...
