Chapter 49: The First Cataclysmic Ability
According to the information inscribed on the foundation of this world, it did indeed face a cataclysm known as the "Apocalyptic Catastrophe" decades ago. This massive disaster plunged the entire world into chaos and fragmentation, subjecting all living beings to the transformative and enlightening power of the catastrophe.
More significantly, as a result of this cataclysm, a spiritual world called the "Boundless Mind Sea" emerged above the material world. This world is a collective manifestation of all consciousness, reflecting and influencing the material world. Its landscapes change with the beliefs, emotions, and memories of living beings, and it, in turn, affects the real world.
From the “Boundless Mind Sea” arose six cataclysmic forces: Order, Chaos, Life, Immortality, Destruction, and Mystery. Each being that steps onto the path of transcendence resonates with one of these forces and becomes its "practitioner" in the material world.
Qiu Tu resonated with the power of Order.
Coming back to reality, Qiu Tu's eyes reflected deep thought. It didn't surprise him that his path was Order, as he had spent most of his life in peace and stability before his crossing. Even during his years of imprisonment, he always longed to return to an orderly and peaceful life.
What surprised him was the branch of the Order path he resonated with—"Order-Politics".
"Politics refers to the activities and relationships centered on governing a country through governmental power, political parties, and various social activities," he mused. "In the era of cataclysm, building a stable and healthy nation is undoubtedly the best way to lead humanity towards recovery."
"So, climbing to the top within the existing shelter system or establishing a new nation from scratch will be the best way to practice the path of Order?"
"The higher the position, the greater the power, the more people I can rally, call upon, and influence, the stronger my power will become?"
Recalling the information in his mind, Qiu Tu had a peculiar look on his face. 'So, to strengthen my power, I have to get promoted? From section chief to department head, to director? From ruling a city to dominating a planned area, then to ruling a shelter?'
'If everyone submits to my Order, will I reach the pinnacle of this extraordinary path?'
To be honest, Qiu Tu found this goal somewhat grand and exaggerated. Although he had some ambition, he mostly just wanted to be a section chief or department head, enjoying some privileges, chatting with attractive subordinates, drinking tea, and handling official duties.
Suddenly being asked to climb to such a high position and bear the heavy responsibility of rebuilding the entire human order made him feel a bit overwhelmed.
But the extraordinary power of this world is unique—once a path is set, it cannot be changed.
So...
Qiu Tu blinked. "How about setting a small goal first? Maybe take Yan Chen's position?"
"From section chief to director should be enough for a significant leap in my extraordinary power, right?"
With this thought, Qiu Tu made up his mind: he would first aim for Yan Chen's position!
After making his decision, Qiu Tu felt much calmer. He temporarily put his thoughts aside and started focusing on his body's condition after the cataclysmic awakening.
He meticulously checked his body. The most noticeable change was that his body seemed to have been reshaped—not only stronger, but also with smoother skin and even his scars gone.
He clenched his fist and swung it forward, producing a "whoosh" sound as documents flew around. "So strong," Qiu Tu murmured in amazement.
It might have been his imagination, but he felt like he could punch a bull to death with one hit now.
Lowering his fist, he squatted, bent his knees, and then sprang up. The next moment, his head hit the ceiling with a thud!
"Bang!" A dull sound echoed as Qiu Tu held his head and landed back on the ground. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt.
"Bang bang bang!"
Just as Qiu Tu was excitedly experimenting, there was a knock on the door, accompanied by Eagle's voice. "Brother Tu, is that you? Are you okay?"
Coming back to his senses, Qiu Tu looked towards the door. In his spiritual vision, he had seen that although Eagle appeared calm, he was actually very worried, pacing back and forth outside. Hearing the noise inside and not seeing Qiu Tu come out, he must have feared that Qiu Tu's cataclysmic awakening had failed, so he became anxious.
Thinking of this, Qiu Tu said, "I'm fine," while walking to the door to open it.
He grabbed the doorknob and twisted it. The door didn't open—the doorknob broke off.
Not facing the worst-case scenario, everything seemed to return to normal. But only Qiu Tu knew that he had changed completely.
Time passed quietly. Soon it was the agreed time for Qiu Tu and Fourth Master Qin.
Five minutes before 7 PM, Qiu Tu's communicator suddenly vibrated.
Feeling the vibration, Qiu Tu opened his eyes from his meditative state and picked up the communicator. As expected, it was a call from Fourth Master Qin.
With a smile on his face, Qiu Tu answered the call.
On the other end, Fourth Master Qin's raspy, resentful voice came through, "I agree."
Qiu Tu smiled and said, "Fourth Master Qin, you won't regret this."
Fourth Master Qin, gritting his teeth, hissed, "I'm just not willing, not willing!"
"Why am I the one to be sacrificed!"
"I'm also my father's son, his brother's kin!"
"Why! Why!"
Hearing this, Qiu Tu empathetically replied, "Fourth Master Qin, I understand you. We all seek six things in life."
"Fairness! Fairness! Damn fairness!"
"Why do you bear all the suffering while my brothers enjoy all the benefits?"
"Just because you were born a few years later?"
Qiu Tu's words hit Fourth Master Qin right in the heart. In these few hours, he had probably gone through multiple psychological struggles and faced a lot of pressure from the first and second branches of the Qin family.
So, he gritted his teeth and said, "Yes! I'm not satisfied!"
Then he asked in a low voice, "So, tell me, what do you want me to do? How can I connect with the military?"
Even at this moment, Qiu Tu remained cautious. He calmly said, "Fourth Master Qin, the plan is simple but needs to be done step by step. Tonight, all you need to do is keep your communicator on and follow my instructions."
"If Director Qin pressures you again or asks for your opinion, you can pretend to agree and stabilize him, sending him to meet Commissioner Yan."
Checking the time, Qiu Tu said, "It's 7 PM now. The journey from the Qin residence to the villa in the city center takes about 20 minutes."
"So, Director Qin should leave the Qin residence around 7:30."
"At that time, I'll give you new instructions."
Fourth Master Qin seemed genuinely willing to cooperate, so he replied in a low voice, "Alright. I'll wait for your message."
Hanging up the call, Qiu Tu stood up with a smile on his face. He walked to the window and gazed at the sky, which was gradually being swallowed by the night. His pupils contracted for a moment, and then the blackness was swiftly replaced by a brilliant blue. Gray mist swirled around him as the material world faded away, and his spirit ascended into the Boundless Mind Sea.
Distance and walls were no longer barriers; his vision pierced through countless spaces to focus on the Qin family residence.
'The show is about to begin.'
