Secretary Bai stared at Qiu Tu for a moment, sighed lightly, then picked up the desk phone. After a brief conversation with Yan Chen, he stood and said to Qiu Tu, “Come with me. The director is waiting for you.”

“Thank you, sir,” Qiu Tu replied sincerely.

Secretary Bai patted Qiu Tu’s shoulder lightly without saying a word, conveying everything without needing to speak.

As the head of the Administrative Division and Yan Chen’s secretary, Secretary Bai’s office was close to Yan Chen’s.

After a short walk, they reached Yan Chen’s office door. Secretary Bai raised his hand to knock, but the sudden “ding dong” of a text message interrupted him.

He paused, looking at Qiu Tu, who smiled apologetically and checked his communicator.

The message was from Fang Ming, containing just nine words: “Fourth Master Qin’s items have been delivered.”

Qiu Tu smiled, silenced his communicator, and whispered to Secretary Bai, “Everything’s handled.”

Secretary Bai nodded and knocked on the office door.

“Come in,” came Yan Chen’s low, raspy voice. Secretary Bai opened the door, leading Qiu Tu into the office representing the highest authority of the Investigation Department.

Like Yan Chen’s study, the office was shrouded in thick curtains, making it dark even in the morning, with only the desk lamp casting a faint light.

Qiu Tu wondered how Yan Chen could review documents in such an environment.

“Director, Agent Qiu is here,” Secretary Bai announced.

“Good morning, Director!” Qiu Tu greeted.

Yan Chen, hidden in the dark behind the desk lamp, acknowledged with a faint “Hmm,” his expression unreadable as he looked at Qiu Tu. “I heard you have something to report?”

“Yes, Director,” Qiu Tu responded. “I’ve found evidence of the Qin family’s collusion with the RUF. I’d like to report to you.”

Two minutes later, the office door knocked again. With Yan Chen’s permission, Secretary Bai entered with Jia Shu and Qin Zhengguang.

After greeting Yan Chen, their attention turned to Qiu Tu.

Jia Shu appeared curious, his eyes twinkling with interest, while Qin Zhengguang glared at Qiu Tu with fiery anger, clearly aware of the situation.

With everyone present, Yan Chen leaned back in his chair and, in a raspy voice, commanded, “Report.”

“Yes, sir,” Qiu Tu acknowledged. He glanced at Qin Zhengguang and Jia Shu before taking out several documents from his file.

“Director, a few days ago, I was ordered to escort Miss Qin back to the Qin family for a visit. Unexpectedly, I received an anonymous tip-off that night.”

“The tip-off alleged the Qin family’s collusion with anti-government organizations, detailing secret deliveries of drugs, weapons, and other controlled resources, and cooperation to help the Qin family expand its influence in New Realm City.”

Qin Zhengguang’s face turned green with rage. He glared at Qiu Tu, shouting, “You’re slandering us! Who’s behind this frame-up?”

His voice echoed in the office.

Before Qiu Tu could respond, Jia Shu laughed and interjected, “Director Qin, no need to get so worked up. Let Qiu Tu finish his report first. We’re all colleagues; no one will falsely accuse you.”

Given Jia Shu’s status as Yan Chen’s right-hand man and one of the nine top officials, Qin Zhengguang couldn’t retort and had to close his mouth, though his eyes still burned with anger.

He knew the Qin family wasn’t a small force but a deeply rooted major family in New Realm City.

Even with solid evidence, dealing with the Qin family would be complex and troublesome.

If Qiu Tu’s evidence was substantial, the Qin family might not be destroyed, but they would certainly seek relentless revenge once they recovered.
