Chapter 15 Magic
Chapter 15 Magic
Alwin did as he was told.
Veris crouched down and carefully applied the ointment to Alwin's wound.
Alwin didn't dare to lower his head, only feeling the gentle touch of the other's hand.
If it weren't for the fact that Alwin carried all of the original owner's memories, he would have thought that Veris was the original owner's mother.
Thinking of this, his eyes lowered slightly, and his heart was filled with turmoil.
The ointment felt cool and refreshing when applied to the skin.
The most amazing thing is that when applied to a wound, there is no pain at all.
In about ten minutes, Veris helped Alwin reapply the medicine.
She carefully examined Alwin's wounds with her dark eyes.
The bruises and blood clots that were originally there have begun to fade, at a rate far exceeding that of a normal person.
"That's...that's incredible. The mutation has given your body a very strong regenerative ability, which is definitely worth studying."
Veris sighed in admiration and opened his palm, revealing the little green ointment left.
"Can you guess how this ointment is made?"
Alwin's nose twitched; the aroma was delicate. After pondering for a long time, he slowly spoke.
"It seems to contain bone-strengthening herbs and arnica..."
He paused at this point.
Veris continued, "And calendula, these are all herbs used for healing."
Alwin silently memorized this valuable prescription, thinking it might come in handy someday.
[Herbal Alchemy Experience +5!]
Hey!
Alwin's cat-like eyes flashed; these all grant experience points.
Veris stood up and threw Alwin's clothes and his own gloves into the trash can.
She then quickly took out a clean apprentice's uniform from a box or cabinet not far away.
"Change your clothes. Your apprentice uniform smells terrible and you can't wear it anymore."
At this point, a hint of disdain flashed across Veris's eyes.
Alwin touched his nose, glancing out of the corner of his eye at the filthy apprentice's clothes in the trash can.
Indeed, he was also very disgusted by this matter.
But for some reason, the Witcher is very opposed to taking a bath.
It's common for people to go six months without showering.
Fortunately, Witchers have a strong immune system and are unlikely to develop any serious illnesses.
"Thank you, Ms. Vera."
Alwin reached out and took the clean clothes.
Upon touching it, his eyes lit up.
The apprentice's clothes that Veris gave him were very soft to the touch, a world apart from the rough linen clothes he had worn before.
It looks like it's made of silk.
Alwin was slightly surprised.
Silk fabrics are not cheap in this world; only the wealthy and powerful can afford them.
And right now it's just being used to make an apprentice uniform.
Ms. Veris is definitely not simple.
After Alvin finished dressing, he loosened his wrists and found that the clothes fit him perfectly.
The style is similar to that of the apprentice robes with wide sleeves and narrow wrists, like those of Veris.
Veris returned to his seat behind the table.
"Some of the mutation data in you is very interesting. I'll write it down. Don't bother me anymore, just focus on your work."
After saying that, she spread out a piece of parchment, picked up the quill pen on the table, and began to write and draw.
Alwin composed himself, took a pair of gloves from where Veris had taken them, and neatly slipped them onto his hands.
After this brief time together, he learned about one of Veris's notable characteristics.
Loves cleanliness.
The entire box under the shelf was pulled out.
Cat's Eyes Condensed, [Alchemy Perception] Activated.
Ripples of different colors emanated from the box.
With just a glance, Alwin already knew what was going on.
Just as Ms. Veris said, they are all very basic herbs.
Alwin picked up a small flower with orange petals, dense stamens, and a sweet fragrance.
Daisies, like white bracken, can neutralize the effects of medicine, but they diminish the senses.
Arwen placed it in the detoxifying drawer.
波~
A pale green halo spread out from it, as if in response to Alwin making the right choice.
Alwin then took out a plant from the box that looked very much like celery, with large, serrated leaves.
After carefully checking it, Alwin placed it in a drawer marked with a poison symbol.
"This is a buttercup, poisonous to ordinary people, but Master Vesemir said it can be used to make a potion—the cat."
Next up are juniper, mint...
Arwen sorted the items one by one. After sorting five items, the system would notify him that he had gained 1 point of herbal alchemy experience.
Herbal Alchemy Lv2: 49/1000
Arwen glanced at the panel and saw that he had distributed about sixty herbs, which gave him exactly 12 experience points.
With the guidance from Veris just now, I have 17 experience points.
This is much faster than practicing swordsmanship.
His gaze fell on the last herb in the box.
Carefully remove it.
It has thin, grayish-green leaves with a bright silver ring around the edges.
What is this?
Arwen frowned, his [Dual Soul] rummaging through all his herbal knowledge, but found no clues.
Under the [Alchemy Perception], the strange little grass emitted a faint silver halo, so faint that he thought it was a roadside weed.
"What's wrong?"
Veris's voice suddenly came from behind.
Alwin stiffened and turned around.
Veris first glanced at the herbs in the wooden box.
"You sorted them so quickly? Your knowledge of basic herbs is very solid."
"Hmm..." Her gaze shifted to Alwin's hand, and she said seriously, "Don't you know this one? It's a very basic one."
Alwin frowned, confirming several times that he hadn't learned this before.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Veris, I don't know the uses of this herb."
A soft light flashed in Veris's eyes as he carefully examined Alwin once more.
"Very good, you didn't intend to deceive me with lies."
She took the small grass from Alvin's hand. "This is Moongrass, a very precious alchemical plant that only grows among clean lake reeds. It can be used as a medium to stimulate energy."
"But most importantly," Veris's tone suddenly became more serious, his long, slender, snow-white fingers slightly bent, "it contains magic."
As soon as he finished speaking, Veris unleashed a terrifying aura, a horrifying suction force emanating from his palm, causing his sleeves to flutter loudly and dimming the light in the room.
The silver leaves of the moongrass are dotted with silver particles, like stars surrounding the moon, creating a beautiful sight.
Under the [Alchemy Perception], the Moongrass bursts forth with a dazzling silver halo.
Alwin stared wide-eyed at the scene, his expression one of utter shock, even his breathing slowed involuntarily.
Although he had some doubts, he still found it difficult to calm down after seeing Veris cast the spell.
She's a sorceress!
But then I thought about it for a moment.
Alwin discovered a big problem.
How could Kael'thas have a female sorceress at this time?!
