Chapter 31 Little Rhinoceros Playing with Clay
Thinking that the pig brain shouldn't be too spicy, Lu Chen scooped up a small piece, dipped it in some minced garlic and sesame oil sauce, and put it into a small dish.
Little Sizi picked up the spoon and poked the small piece of ground. It bounced up with a gurgling sound.
"Hehe! The kite is so much fun!" The little guy scooped up the pig brain.
"Sizi, blow on it, be careful it's hot," Lu Chen instructed the little guy.
"Hmm! Whoosh! Whoosh!" The little guy blew hard, blowing his hair all over his forehead.
"Oink~~" The little guy put the pig brain into his mouth and his little mouth started to bulge.
"Duck~ It's softer than tofu pudding! It smells so good! It's like a cloud melting in your mouth!" Little Sizi's eyes narrowed into slits.
Immediately, the people outside the canopy followed the little ox's chewing and throat movements.
"Sizi, is it spicy?" Lu Chen asked.
"Hmm~ a little~" "Burning~" Xiao Sizi then felt a burning sensation on the tip of her tongue and in her throat.
"Here, have some orange juice." Lin Chen handed over a cup.
Little Sizi took a deep breath, licked his lips, and exclaimed, "Brother! I want seven more pig brains!"
"Okay." Lu Chen picked up a piece of pig brain, put it in a bowl of water, let it float a few times, then rolled it in the dipping sauce before handing it to Xiao Sizi.
While they were eating, Zhang Jing suddenly stood up and said, "Lu Chen, Si Zi, you two continue eating. I'm going to the restroom."
"Uh, let's go together," Lu Chen also stood up. "Sizi, how about your brother takes you to wash your hands?"
"I don't want to go to the bathroom, I don't like rice, I want to eat rice."
"I'm going now," Zhang Jing said, walking ahead.
Lu Chen watched Zhang Jing's retreating figure and smiled helplessly. That kid had indeed gone to secretly pay the bill again. It was always like this at every gathering; they'd agreed to take turns paying, but Zhang Jing always found an excuse to pay in advance.
He turned to look at the little guy, who was engrossed in eating. His cheeks were puffed out like a squirrel's, and his mouth was still glistening with sesame oil. He was trying to dip his spoon into the boiling red soup.
"Sizi, stop scooping it out!" Lu Chen quickly grabbed her wrist. "Duck blood needs to be cooked thoroughly before you can eat it."
"But it keeps swimming around!" Si Zi was so anxious that he stomped his feet, and beads of sweat appeared on his nose.
Lu Chen used a slotted spoon to scoop up the trembling, fresh duck blood, rinsed it in the clear broth to remove the chili oil, and then carefully blew on it to cool it down: "Come on, open your mouth and 'Awoo!'" Si Zi swallowed it in one gulp, shaking its head contentedly: "Slippery! Like sliding down a slide into my belly!"
Just then, Zhang Jing returned carrying two cartons of yogurt, and Si Zi's eyes lit up immediately: "Yogurt! I want it!"
"Afraid of spicy food, huh?" Zhang Jing chuckled as he inserted the straw. "I bought this on the way to pay, so our little cutie won't stick her tongue out from the spiciness—"
Lu Chen raised an eyebrow: "Stealing orders again?"
"This is the last time!" Zhang Jing shoved the yogurt into the eyes of the eager Si Zi.
"Sizi, eat some more vegetables."
"You haven't eaten your steamed dumplings yet."
The two older brothers took turns serving food to the little guy.
Beyond the sky.
Li Shimin and Empress Zhangsun were relieved.
"Erlang, look how good that young master Zhang Jing is to Sizi!"
"Both of them are good children!" Li Shimin sighed with satisfaction.
"Sizi is so lucky. She's actually eating shrimp dumplings!" Li Tai's small mouth was filled with more jealousy than anything else.
"Nah na na..." Little Sizi ate several shrimp dumplings and then started drinking from his yogurt bottle.
Lu Chen and Zhang Jing were chatting.
A while later.
"Brother! I want to go down!" The little guy was holding a half-empty bottle of yogurt.
"Let's go!" Lu Chen picked up the little ox.
"Why don't you come back to my place and stay for a while? Little Si can draw whatever she wants there," Zhang Jing invited.
"Let's do it another day. You can just take us home, and then we can rest for half a day before catching the train early tomorrow," Lu Chen refused outright.
"What time tomorrow morning? I'll take you."
"Depart at 8:30."
"Okay, I'll pick you up at 8:20."
"Thank you, Zhang Jing," Xiao Sizi said first.
"Let's go~" The two older brothers led the little ox out of the store.
Once in the car, Xiao Sizi continued drinking her yogurt.
Passing by Zhang Jing's studio, Zhang Jing stopped the car: "Wait a minute, I'm going in to get something."
"No need, don't bother with that." Lu Chen noticed that this kid had become so fussy.
Soon, Zhang Jing came out, holding two bags of lightweight clay.
Lu Chen couldn't help but laugh, "Thanks! It's for Xiao Sizi again."
"Brother, what's this?" Little Si blinked her big eyes.
"Little one, all you know is food!" Lu Chen flicked the little princess's nose. "This is colorful clay! Play with it when you get home."
"Wow! That's great!" Little Sizi waved his little hands happily.
"Quickly thank Brother Zhang Jing!" Lu Chen reminded him.
"No need, no need. It's too much trouble to keep thanking me. I'm Xiao Si's older brother too."
"Thank you, Zhang Jing." Little Sizi hugged the clay like it was a precious treasure.
After arriving home, Lu Chen began teaching the little guy how to make clay figurines.
The two, one big and one small, sat around the coffee table and set up their stall.
Lu Chen took out colorful clay from the bag and laid it out on the coffee table: "Sizi, look, this is red, like a red apple; this is yellow, like a dumpling wrapper; and this is blue, like the sky—"
The little boy's eyes widened, and he grabbed a piece of pink sticky dough, shaping it into a round ball: "Brother! This is pig brain! It's so soft!"
Lu Chen couldn't help but chuckle, helping her to make the "pig brain" rounder: "Yes, our little Sizi is a little foodie, everything she makes looks like food."
The little guy picked up the green sticky dough again and clumsily rolled it into a long strip: "This is green vegetable! I need more green vegetables to grow tall!"
Lu Chen smiled and nodded, picked up a piece of white clay, and shaped it into a miniature yogurt bottle. He even used black clay to make a straw.
Upon seeing this, Little Sizi immediately placed the "pig brain" and "vegetables" she had sculpted next to the yogurt bottle, clapping her little hands and saying, "Brother! We're having dinner!"
Outside the canopy, everyone was shocked again.
Zhu Yuanzhang exclaimed in surprise, "My goodness! Modern children are truly blessed! Even playing in the mud has special qualities! How wonderful it would be if our children could play like that too!"
Empress Ma laughed and said, "Then let our children play with the dough figurines, and when they're done playing, we can steam them and eat them."
Zhu Yuanzhang nodded repeatedly: "Sister, you're so smart!"
"What special effects does modern sticky food have?" Ying Zheng stared intently.
"Little Sizi is so lucky. I hope she comes back someday and brings me a bag of sticky rice." Li Tai was like a cat gazing at the stars.
Empress Zhangsun and Li Shimin watched with delight: "Second Prince, look, Little Sizi has made a little mouse, but she insists it's a dumpling."
"Haha... whatever she says goes. It's already impressive that such a young child can do this." Li Shimin smiled like an aunt.
The two were having a great time when Lu Chen's phone rang. It was a text message reminding him of the high-speed train tomorrow.
He glanced at the time; it was almost five o'clock. He then said to Xiao Sizi, "Sizi, you play first. I'll go cook."
Remember, don't eat clay, it's dirty! It'll give you a stomachache. Wash your hands before eating.
"Yes! My package has arrived!" The little guy nodded emphatically.
"It's time to eat," Lu Chen called to Si Zi.
The little guy reluctantly put down the clay, hugged the bag of colorful mud, and said, "Brother, can I still make things tomorrow?"
"Of course, we can still pinch him when we get on the train." Lu Chen pulled the little guy to wash his hands.
