Primordial Soul's Rebirth

CHAPTER 373 - Take your time.

CHAPTER 373 - Take your time.

"ARGHHHHHH!! You bitch! I'll kill you—!"

*Slash*

"—GAHHHHHH!!"

The young master of the youngest duke family of the Phoenixia Empire, Abraham Edmund, flailed his arms here and there, trying to cope with the pain he felt.

He, just like always, was out for a walk in the capital city, wanting to catch a new girl as the one he caught a few days back was now broken.

It was then that his eyes fell on Ann—a girl so beautiful that even the top beauties he had captured until now looked like rotten fruits in front of her.

He was left stunned the moment he caught sight of her.

'I want her', he thought that instant.

He could tell that she wasn't just anyone; it was clear from the way she carried herself, but did he care about it?

Not in the least.

Once he has set his eyes on something, he gets it by hook or crook.

He didn't even care if she was an imperial princess of some other empire; what would someone do if they couldn't even be able to find a trace of her?

He would just pick up and enjoy her until he was satisfied before he would pass her on to his guards and lackeys to enjoy.

When all of them were done with her, he would just put a mask on her and put her for sale.

Or so he thought...

All of his plans were foiled by the same girl he was planning to capture.

She turned out to be stronger than him, much to his dismay.

But the moment he realized the true power of Ann was the moment he had his wrist cut off—that was what marked the start of the endless suffering of Edmund and his lackeys.

"I-I'll have you hanged at the central plaza—"

*Slick*

"—ARGHHHHH!!!!!"

He would try to warm her and threaten her, but all he got in reply was a slash of a dark blade that took away one of his ears.

"M-My father will not let you off—"

*Sklsh*

"—AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Edmund tried to use his father's name, but he didn't know that using the name of his backer wasn't going to help him in the least—at least not when his opponent was Ann, who had the demon lord as her backer.

It was then that Edmund's bloodshot eyes turned toward the people in the surroundings, who were staring at the scene with their mouths and eyes wide open, too shocked to even move from their spots.

"YOU MFS! What the hell are you all staring at?!?!

CALL MY FATHER—!"

*Slash*

"—ARGHHHHHHH!! My leg!!!"

His shout, however, was cut short again as one of his legs was cut off with a single slash from Noctura's claws.

"Sure, take your time.

I was going to visit this place soon anyway."

Alex's calm and unbothered words echoed through the small jail-like room as he moved toward the ball made of energy—something that had Alice inside it.

He extended his palm, trying to touch the outer shell of the ball of energy, but...

"No! If you touch it—!"

The Phoenix, who saw what Alex was doing, panicked; she tried to stop Alex as it would be really bad if Alex were to touch that mass of energy.

It wasn't something that could be opened without the phoenix's mana, as it was linked to her; if someone else tried to even touch it, the ball of energy would crumble from the inside, taking the life of the being within it as well.

But her words got stuck in her mouth as she saw a flash of silver mass filled with black sparks spearing in between the mass of energy and Alex's palm.

That flash sent a violent shiver throughout her flame-like body.

She could sense danger from it without even moving closer to it, and the next second.

*Fwish*

The ball of energy vanished with a flash, as if it were never there in the first place, sending another wave of shock throughout the phoenix's body.

*Grab*

Alex, on the other hand, moved swiftly, catching the body of the woman who was trapped within that mass of energy.

The woman he had in his arms, as if longing for his touch, inadvertently moved closer into his chest, clutching him tightly even though she was clearly unconscious.

"Alex..."

The woman with fiery red hair and bright red eyes muttered, still asleep, but there was a happy and relaxed smile on her face as if she had finally gotten what she wanted.

Alex, on the other hand, just smiled; his forehead touched the woman's, and he kept it like that for a while.

"I missed you, Alice..."

He muttered, and his words seemingly relaxed the girl, Alice, even more than before.

The Phoenix, who saw all of this, just stayed silent, adding a new trait to Alex's image she had in her mind, but just then, she saw Alex's head snap toward a certain direction, his expression turning serious as he spoke.

"I shall take my leave now, but the next time we meet, I expect an answer."

With those words, Alex zoomed out of the area with Alice still in his arms.

The Phoenix, however, was left worried.

'W-Why did he have that look on his face?'

She muttered inwardly, not sure of the reason, but she really didn't want any of her descendants to face him.

If she could, then she would rather maintain a friendly relationship with him, as it felt like it would only bring her profit.

"Agni! Pura! Griva!"

She hurriedly called out to the ones who were guarding her place, protecting her from any harm, and the next second, three people—two women and one man—came rushing in, only to freeze on their spots the moment they caught sight of the missing mass of energy.

"W-What happened here?!"

One of the girls, Pura, exclaimed in shock as she rushed toward the spot where the ball of energy was placed, trying to look for any proof she could find.

But before she could even move, the phoenix spoke in a hurry.

"This is not important, right now!"
