Chapter 249 246: Gambare, Gambare~
Chapter 249 246: Gambare, Gambare~
Although countless thoughts flashed through his mind in that brief moment, Isshiki merely let out a helpless sigh on the surface. The killing intent that had burst out moments ago gradually settled back beneath the surface as he regained his usual composed demeanor.
Then, to Obito's slight surprise, he calmly straightened his robes as though greeting unexpected guests rather than enemies who had barged into his dimension.
"So… what do I owe this sudden visit?"
His tone was smooth and gentlemanly, almost refined.
Then his gaze briefly swept across the shattered laboratory around them before he added with polite indifference:
"Although I must apologize for the state of the place. I wasn't expecting visitors today."
Obito looked at him quietly.
Even now, Isshiki still carried himself with elegance.
As expected of someone who could casually invade another person's home and still politely apologize for stepping inside with shoes on.
"A visit?" Obito chuckled faintly. "Not exactly."
"I'm looking for something."
Isshiki tilted his head a little.
"Oh?"
Obito's smile deepened.
"To be more precise…"
"The location of Shibai's cells."
Those somewhat casual words sounded simple, yet they were enough to completely shatter the atmosphere Isshiki had carefully established.
For the first time since regaining his composure, Isshiki's expression visibly stiffened.
It only lasted for a brief moment but Obito still noticed it clearly.
"…Shibai's cells?" Isshiki repeated calmly.
Then he shook his head lightly.
"I'm afraid I don't know what you're referring to."
Obito stared at him for several silent seconds before slowly shaking his own head.
"It seems taking them by force is the only option after all."
"Hm."
Isshiki chuckled softly.
"Young people truly are impatient these days."
Then his dark eyes sharpened slightly.
"However… merely sealing my abilities won't be enough to force anything out of me."
Even without Sukunahikona
He was still Isshiki Ōtsutsuki.
A monster whose raw physical abilities alone surpassed almost every living being.
Obito smiled calmly.
"We'll see about that."
Isshiki's gaze shifted toward Kaguya standing quietly behind him.
The moment he looked at her, disgust surfaced openly in his eyes.
"How pathetic."
His voice turned colder.
"A traitor once… and now reduced to following another man."
His lips curved faintly with contempt.
"You truly are a shameless woman, Kaguya."
Then he glanced back toward Obito.
"And you…"
"I may not know who you are, but I certainly know the thing standing behind you."
"Kaguya Ōtsutsuki is a traitor by nature."
"She betrayed me once."
"So tell me… what makes you think she won't stab you in the back someday as well?"
Obito raised an eyebrow in interest, inwardly noting that this man's mind moved incredibly fast.
Isshiki clearly intended to sow distrust between them.
But unexpectedly, upon hearing his accusations, Kaguya did not become nervous at all. Instead, she smiled faintly, even if it was only the slightest curl at the corner of her lips.
"Isshiki…"
Her pale eyes looked at him calmly.
"If I truly had to choose…"
"Then I would betray you again without hesitation."
Her soft voice paused for a brief moment, as though she were carefully choosing her next words.
"Your personality was always unbearable."
"…Nasty, arrogant, and insufferable."
Isshiki's expression instantly darkened.
Veins bulged faintly across his forehead, his composure genuinely cracking again.
"Kaguya…"
His teeth slowly clenched together.
Boom!
The ground beneath his feet exploded apart.
Isshiki vanished instantly.
Even without Shinjutsu, his speed remained monstrous.
In less than a fraction of a second, he appeared directly in front of Obito and threw a punch toward his face with enough force to shatter mountains.
Kaguya's eyes widened slightly.
She knew better than anyone how terrifying Isshiki's physical strength truly was.
Yet...
Smack.
Obito casually caught the punch with one hand.
The shockwave erupted violently through the laboratory, blowing apart nearby walls and sending debris flying everywhere.
But Obito himself did not move even an inch.
Isshiki's pupils contracted. This time, the surprise on his face was genuine. Being able to contend with him in a physical clash alone was already impressive… yet this was clearly far from over.
Whoosh!
A brutal leg kick shot toward Obito's ribs.
Smack.
Obito caught that too.
One hand holding the fist.
The other gripping Isshiki's leg.
Isshiki's gaze shifted slightly.
The contempt from before vanished, yet even with his attacks blocked, he remained calm.
Then he stopped holding back.
His power surged to its full extent. Black markings spread across his face, and a massive horn extended from his forehead. The muscles beneath his skin strained violently...
Yet he still could not break free from Obito's grip.
Isshiki's eyes narrowed into thin slits as a cold realization sank into his chest.
In raw strength alone…
This man was above him.
Obito's fingers closed around Isshiki's wrist and ankle with almost unsettling gentleness.
A savage grin stretched across his face.
"Well…" he drawled, "now why would you do something so foolish?"
Isshiki's expression shifted, a chill crept up his spine at that malevolent smile.
Crack.
Agony lanced through his limbs. Isshiki's composure shattered with the sound, one of his golden eye flying wide in horrified disbelief.
"Y-you can't be–"
Obito's answer was a flash of bared teeth. Then he twisted hard.
RRRIP!!
Flesh tore like wet paper, black blood splattering across the ruined laboratory floor.
"AAARGH!!!"
Isshiki's roar echoed, thick with rage and shock.
Beside Obito, Kaguya's pale eyes widened violently. Even she looked stunned, horror etched across her face as Obito calmly ripped Isshiki apart.
"Come on," Obito mocked softly, looking more than satisfied.
"I thought the great Isshiki Ōtsutsuki wouldn't lose composure like this."
Boom!!
With a violent motion, he swung Isshiki downward and smashed him into the laboratory floor.
The entire underground base shook violently.
Cracks exploded across the ground like spiderwebs while debris and shattered machinery flew into the air.
"KHHH!!"
Isshiki coughed violently as blood burst from his mouth.
Before he could recover
Bang!!
Obito's foot slammed directly into his chest and crushed him deeper into the crater.
"Urghh…!"
The impact forced another pained groan out of Isshiki's throat.
Humiliation surged through him uncontrollably.
He...
Isshiki Ōtsutsuki
Was being trampled into the ground like this?
Veins bulged violently across his forehead.
His black eyes became bloodshot with rage.
"I'LL KILL YOU!!"
The roar exploded from his throat like a beast driven completely mad.
"No matter what…"
"I'LL KILL YOU FOR THIS!!"
The killing intent flooding the laboratory became almost tangible.
Even Kaguya felt slightly stunned watching him lose composure this thoroughly.
Yet Obito only looked down at him with amusement.
Stomp!!
His foot came crashing down onto Isshiki's face.
The impact shattered several teeth instantly.
"Gambare, gambare~"
Obito mocked casually.
"Come on, wasn't the great Isshiki Ōtsutsuki supposed to be stronger than this?"
Isshiki's entire body trembled violently with fury.
Suddenly
Grab!!
He caught Obito's leg with both hands.
The muscles in his arms bulged grotesquely as veins spread across his skin.
He pushed with all his strength, desperately trying to force space between them.
His Kāma flickered instinctively.
He wanted to escape.
Even a slight distance would be enough.
But...
Nothing happened.
Sukunahikona still would not activate. Even his space-time portal refused to open.
Obito had not only sealed Isshiki's ability, his control over space had grown so overwhelming that ordinary space-time techniques could no longer function unless he allowed them to. If he wanted to, he could suppress space-related abilities with ease.
A flicker of disbelief crossed Isshiki's eyes.
'Why…?!'
Obito looked down at him with clear disdain.
STOMP!!
Crunchkkkk!!
His foot came down again with monstrous force.
This time it pierced straight through Isshiki's chest.
The sound was horribly wet.
Flesh exploded.
Bones shattered apart.
A massive hole was blasted directly through Isshiki's torso as black blood erupted across the floor.
"GAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"
Isshiki's scream echoed through the ruined laboratory.
Even Kaguya instinctively took a step back at the gruesome sight.
Obito's foot remained embedded through Isshiki's chest while his expression stayed utterly calm.
"This could've been avoided."
He looked down at him as though lecturing an idiot.
"If you had cooperated from the beginning, none of this would've happened."
A faint smirk slowly appeared on Obito's face.
"But no…"
"You wanted to stand there acting like some untouchable god."
His foot twisted slowly inside the massive wound.
"Now look at you."
Isshiki's vision blurred heavily.
Pain.
It had been so long since he truly felt pain like this that, for a brief moment, even his thoughts became sluggish.
Black blood continued pouring from the massive hole in his chest while his severed arm lay somewhere amidst the rubble.
Yet even so...
'I cannot die here.'
The thought surfaced instantly.
A monstrous red aura suddenly erupted from Isshiki's body.
BOOOOM!!
The laboratory trembled violently again as unstable energy exploded outward like a storm.
Kaguya's expression shifted onto surprise.
She could sense it immediately.
Isshiki was burning through the remaining data inside his Kāma.
The flesh around the massive hole in his chest began writhing grotesquely.
Bones reconstructed themselves.
Muscles intertwined.
Organs regenerated at terrifying speed.
Even the leg Obito had nearly destroyed regenerated completely within moments.
But... his missing arm did not return.
Isshiki's face darkened slightly.
He had restored only the bare minimum needed to survive.
And the price…
He could already feel it.
That vessel had been imperfect from the beginning.
Forcefully reincarnating completely inside it had already shortened his remaining lifespan dramatically.
And now after using the remaining Kāma data like this—
A cold realization settled inside him.
One week.
At most, this body would survive for one more week before collapsing entirely.
Obito looked at him as if he were watching the protagonist of some novel.
Clap.
Clap.
He even applauded slowly, a grin stretching across his face.
"Impressive."
"Even now, you're still struggling this desperately to survive. For a moment, you really did look like a protagonist cornered into a hopeless situation, just waiting to turn the tables. Fantastic."
Isshiki ignored the mockery completely.
The instant his body stabilized, he retreated backward explosively to create distance.
But unlike before, the first thought in his mind was no longer fighting...
It was escape.
He had to leave immediately.
His Kāma flared violently as he attempted to force open a dimensional transfer but it still failed despite being in his current form.
'No…'
His thoughts sank slightly.
'He's interfering with the surrounding space itself somehow…'
Isshiki slowly exhaled.
The rage and killing intent on his face gradually receded once more, forcibly buried beneath that same refined composure he always carried.
Even while standing there covered in blood with a missing arm, he still somehow managed to look dignified.
"…My apologies."
His deep voice echoed calmly.
"It seems I may have acted somewhat rashly just now."
Kaguya stared at him strangely.
To think Isshiki would actually suppress his anger this quickly.
As expected of someone who had survived for thousands of years.
Isshiki lightly brushed dust from his ruined sleeve before raising his gaze toward Obito again.
"Tell me…"
"Is the deal from before still available?"
His tone remained smooth and gentlemanly, as though discussing business over tea rather than negotiating for his life.
"If you are willing, I can share some of the cells I've acquired."
"Though admittedly not many."
His dark eyes narrowed slightly.
"Still… I believe the quantity should be more than enough to satisfy someone with your ambitions."
Obito looked at him performing quietly for several moments.
"Hm…"
The simple sound made Isshiki's eyes narrow, a faint glimmer of hope surfaced within them.
After all, no matter how monstrous Obito was, Shibai's cells were still an irresistible temptation to any Ōtsutsuki.
Isshiki immediately caught onto that reaction and continued calmly:
"In truth, conflict between us is unnecessary."
"You desire Shibai's remains."
"And I desire continued survival."
A faint what seemed to be a 'smile' appeared on his face.
"This arrangement benefits both of us."
After those words, Kaguya glanced at him as well, waiting for his response, while Obito remained silent, stroking his chin.
For a few moments–moments that felt like a year to Isshiki–Obito said nothing.
Then he chuckled softly.
"Sorry to say this…"
He slowly raised his head, his eyes meeting Isshiki's directly.
"But even if you had handed over the cells willingly…"
A savage grin spread across his face.
"I still would've killed you."
The smile on Isshiki's face froze instantly.
Obito casually spread his arms with a shrug.
"Though to be fair…"
"It probably would've hurt a lot less."
That did it.
The fake gentlemanly mask vanished the moment Isshiki realized this bastard had been playing with him from start to finish. Obito had never intended to let this matter end without killing him.
Furious and ashamed that he had indirectly begged for his life, Isshiki could no longer hold himself back and spat out a string of curses.
"How dare you toy with me like this?!"
"I am Isshiki Ōtsutsuki!!"
"A being destined to become a god!"
His golden eye locked onto Obito with murderous hatred.
"And you dare humiliate me like some animal beneath your feet?!"
His curses came to an abrupt halt because the man he had been cursing at was suddenly gone.
Isshiki's pupils contracted violently.
He immediately scanned the laboratory.
A faint sound reached his ears.
Tap.
Isshiki stiffly turned his head back forward.
Obito stood there again with a playful smile on his face, casually bouncing something in his hand.
Thump.
Catch.
Thump.
Catch.
For a brief second, Isshiki's mind failed to process what he was seeing.
Then his gaze slowly lowered toward his own chest.
A massive hole had appeared there at some point.
Blood gushed endlessly from it.
And only then did he realize–the thing Obito was casually tossing up and down…
Was his heart.
"…Ah…"
A strange sound escaped Isshiki's throat.
He looked at Obito.
His lips moved slightly as though he wanted to say something.
Rage.
Disbelief.
Humiliation.
Countless emotions surged through him at once.
Yet before any words could leave his mouth—
Obito Uchiha spoke first, taking even that right away from him.
"Devouring Coffin."
The world suddenly became dark.
An enormous black coffin manifested silently behind Isshiki like a shadow swallowing reality itself.
Its surface was covered in strange crimson markings that seemed almost alive.
The moment it opened...
Isshiki felt something colder than death itself seize his soul.
His body began sinking into the darkness uncontrollably.
For the first time in countless years…
Immense fear never felt before appeared in Isshiki's eyes.
"No…"
His voice finally lost all composure.
"WAIT!!"
The coffin closed.
BOOM.
The laboratory became deathly quiet.
Inside the endless darkness of the coffin, Isshiki's final thoughts echoed faintly.
'So this… is how it ends…?'
After thousands of years of schemes…
After devouring countless worlds…
After sacrificing countless lives…
In the end, he still failed to become a god.
A bitter emotion surfaced within him.
Regret?
No.
Isshiki did not regret the things he had done.
If given another chance, he would still make the same choices.
Yet even so…
As the darkness swallowed him completely, one final thought appeared in his fading consciousness.
'…I should have killed Kaguya immediately that day.'
Author's Note: Yoho, Arthorain here!
I'll keep it simple and won't babble. I've started a new novel, and honestly, I could use some help with it. Since it's still new, every bit of support matters.
Naruto: Dracule Mihawk Template is now live—packed with aura farming, elegant disrespect, and an MC who handles problems the Mihawk way: stare first, slash second, explain absolutely nothing.
A Power Stone or even adding it to library would help more than you'd think. Doing both is, of course, highly encouraged.
