Chapter 878 - 878: [878] : Taking the Hōgyoku

Aizen's body reformed once more. He had become such a monster that it was impossible for Shin to read his expression.

"So, what's on your mind now, Aizen?" Shin asked with a faint smile.

Aizen's defeat was now certain. He hadn't evolved again; it seemed Shin had pushed him to his absolute limit. This left Shin a little disappointed.

Shin had hoped that Aizen's power would continue to grow, forcing him to reveal his own true strength, perhaps even forcing Shin to use the Hōgyoku's power himself. But the result was disappointing.

"Shin Uzumaki, your power is far greater than I imagined. I cannot defeat you."

Aizen seemed to have completely given up, his entire being exuding an air of defeat.

Honestly, Shin didn't buy it for a second. Would Aizen really act like this? Was his personality the type to admit defeat so easily?

"In that case, I'll be taking your Hōgyoku."

With a single motion, Shin reached out toward Aizen. Just as Aizen was about to move, he found himself bound by a Bakudō, temporarily unable to move.

In the next instant, Shin seized the Hōgyoku, successfully wrenching it free.

"Impossible! The Hōgyoku is completely under my control! How could you take it from me?!"

Aizen lost his composure, his eyes fixed on the Hōgyoku in Shin's hand.

His earlier words had been a feint. He hadn't truly given up; he had just been trying to make Shin lower his guard.

But he never expected that even the Hōgyoku would be taken from him. How could he possibly remain calm?

"Heh. Was that supposed to be difficult?" Shin had already completely sealed the Hōgyoku and stored it in the system space.

He certainly wasn't going to let something like that fall back into Aizen's hands. He had already tested Aizen's limits.

There was no point in pushing him further. Forcing another evolution would probably take a long time, and Shin had no intention of waiting.

Aizen tried to snatch the Hōgyoku back, but he was immediately met with a slash from Shin's sword that sent him flying.

Half of Aizen's body was destroyed, but even so, he didn't die.

Though he had lost the Hōgyoku, it didn't mean his power had completely vanished. However, Aizen's body began to revert from its monstrous form, returning to something closer to his original appearance.

He felt that if he didn't, the surrounding Shinigami might just burn to death.

After he deactivated it, they all breathed a sigh of relief. If he had kept it going, they really might have died.

"Even in this state, Aizen isn't that easy to deal with, is he? Or do you think he'll just surrender?"

Unohana spoke up.

"Then why don't you step in, Captain Unohana? You'd be a great help."

Though Unohana's strength couldn't compare to the current Aizen, she could still cause him some trouble. The average captain would just be instantly killed.

And sure enough, the captains, including the Visored who could use Hollowfication, were all taken down by Aizen in a matter of minutes.

This wasn't a good sign. There was still the Sternritter to deal with. If they showed up, these captains would probably get thrashed even worse.

Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni couldn't bear to watch anymore. At this point, he had to be the one to solve this. Honestly, watching his captains get taken down one by one...

"I'm merely a member of the Royal Guard. It's not my place to interfere."

Shutara Senjumaru said calmly, basically saying her strength was too weak to be suitable for this fight.

"Shin-sama, let me fight," Soi Fon said to Shin.

"Soi Fon, you should just stay back." Shin shook his head. Soi Fon was not suited for this fight.

Because Shin didn't want to see Soi Fon get hurt. Even the weakened Aizen could still kill Soi Fon in an instant. If she went up now, wasn't she just asking for it?

"That's right, Soi Fon, just stay in the back. Besides, Old Man Yamamoto is already making his move."

Yoruichi shook her head at Soi Fon.

Now that the Head-Captain was fighting, how could anyone else interfere? Weren't they afraid of getting caught in the crossfire?

Soi Fon was obedient to Shin and Yoruichi, so she stopped and stood behind Shin without moving.

Then they saw the battle between the Head-Captain and Aizen begin again. This time, because they were in Hueco Mundo, Yamamoto had no reservations and used his Bankai.

"First we had to endure the heat from Shin's Zanka no Tachi, and now we have to deal with the old man's." Kyōraku couldn't help but complain.

"Ukitake, you should leave first. Otherwise, your body won't be able to take it," Kyōraku said to his friend, Jūshirō Ukitake.

The other members of the Gotei 13 also began to retreat. This battle, just like the one between Shin and Aizen, was something they simply couldn't interfere with.
