Chapter 214 Warning
Harvest Church, South of the Bridge.
Before going to teach Casimi Odra a lesson, Sirion first approached Father Utravsky.
"Father, I need to record a few more 'Light Storms,' and it would be best if you could also add 'Dawn Armor' and 'Sword of Dawn.'"
"Let's save up the payment first, and I'll bring it to you next time."
Father Utravsky nodded gently, his expression unchanged.
"Okay, but you'll have to wait a while. I need to finish my prayers for today first."
"no problem."
Cyril nodded and casually found a bench at the back of the hall to sit down.
Silver City, at the top of the Round Tower, in Chief Colin's room.
A knock suddenly sounded on the door.
Colin, sitting behind the long table, glanced in the direction of the door and said in a deep voice:
"Come in."
oops~
Derrick pushed open the door and walked in. After closing the door behind him, he went to Chief Colin's desk and placed a small worm with twelve transparent segments on the table.
A strange glint flashed in Colin's deep, weathered light blue eyes, then he fixed his gaze on Derrick and asked calmly:
"What do you want to tell me?"
Derrick pursed his lips, his mind flashing back to the images of "Justice" Audrey and "The Hanged Man" Alger teaching him conversation skills.
He took a deep breath and then said:
"This is the Time Worm that Amon used to create clones. When you, Chief, cleared out the Amon clone at the bottom of the Round Tower, it silently parasitized me."
"However, I was discovered when I prayed to another being. That being gave me a secret ritual, and after I performed the ritual, it sent its angels to purify the Amon clone that was parasitizing my spirit."
"This Time Worm was spat out by Amon, who was parasitizing me, after he was cleaned out."
"Another being?" Colin stared intently at Derrick, a complex dark green symbol appearing in his light blue eyes.
Derrick nodded slightly, his voice tinged with an uncontrollable sadness:
"Yes, it was after I ended my parents' lives with my own hands."
"I was very confused at the time and not in a good mental state. I kept praying and asking God. I don't know which of those prayers led me to contact Mr. Fool."
"Mr. 'Fool'?"
Colin frowned, trying to find some trace of this person in his memory, but ultimately found nothing.
He paused, then looked at Derrick, who had stopped because of his interruption, and nodded almost imperceptibly:
"Go on."
"Hmm." Derrick nodded and continued his story:
"Later, I was drawn into Mr. 'The Fool's' kingdom and joined a gathering that was held there regularly."
"Everyone there except me lives in a world with sunshine and the sea. Some of them come from the sea, and some come from a place called Backlund."
"I mentioned Silver City and its surroundings to them, and they called it the Forsaken Land, saying it was a place even the Seven Gods couldn't find."
Colin suddenly stood up, the dark green symbols in his eyes splitting open and finally emitting a ghostly light as he looked at Derrick with an extremely oppressive gaze:
Are you sure?
Colin's sudden action startled Derrick, who shook his head helplessly.
"I... I'm not sure. You can't see the outside world from Mr. Fool's kingdom, but they have no reason to deceive me."
"and."
"And what?" Colin's tone softened as he sat back down in the chair behind him.
The oppressive aura emanating from the chief disappeared, and Derrick let out a soft breath before continuing:
"Moreover, I paid attention to their conversations and exchanged some information with them about the outside world, whether it was their experiences at sea, what was happening in the city, or the complex interpersonal relationships. It didn't seem like they were making things up."
Colin sighed and shook his head: "Have you forgotten all the general education courses you took?"
"Those dangerous evil gods can silently influence and corrupt a person, turning a normal person into a madman without them even realizing it, and he may even think that he is right."
Derrick pursed his lips, and after a long while, he finally uttered a sentence:
"I know... but Mr. Fool is not an evil god."
Colin shook his head, not dwelling on the question. If Derrick was truly corrupted by the evil god called "The Fool," how could he possibly regain his senses with just a few simple words from him?
If he wasn't influenced by the evil god, then saying all this would be even more useless.
He raised his hand to rub his temples and asked casually:
"You came to see me today because of the problem with the exploration team led by Lovia that I mentioned before?"
The sudden shift in topic caught Derrick off guard...: "Miss Justice" and "Mr. Hanged Man" never said what to do in this situation.
After a brief moment of panic, he composed himself and nodded earnestly, saying:
"Yes, I learned from members of that gathering that the half-destroyed temple that Elder Lovia led the exploration of belonged to the 'True Creator,' a true evil god who, along with his followers, has perpetrated numerous bloody incidents in the outside world."
"One of the members mentioned to me that the true form of the 'True Creator' resides in the Forsaken Land."
"Moreover, the 'True Creator' happens to control the 'Secret Prayer' pathway where Elder Lovia resides. Within the other's temple, she would inevitably be influenced. I've seen the returning exploration team members; they've already been corrupted."
Colin stared intently at Derrick and asked, enunciating each word clearly:
How can you be so sure?
Derrick immediately replied, "The 'Sun' pathway is particularly sensitive to the forces of darkness and corruption; I feel an inexplicable unease whenever I get close to them."
After a brief pause, he added, "We can go to the square to verify with the members of the exploration team who are still in quarantine."
Colin looked at Derrick, whose face still retained a hint of childishness, and earnestly reminded him:
"If they weren't corrupted by the 'true creator' you speak of, do you know what the consequences would be for you?"
Derrick gritted his teeth and said firmly, "I'm willing to take the risk."
Colin nodded slightly, slung the two straight swords beside him over his back, and then walked toward the office door.
"Follow me."
"Okay," Derrick replied quickly.
On the outskirts of Backlund, at the Audra family estate.
Sparkling starlight flew out from the void, quickly outlining a slightly illusory starlight gate, from which Cyril emerged.
As the starlight gate appeared, a swarm of vampire bats, existing between reality and illusion, flew out of the manor.
They circled around Sirion once, then reassembled in mid-air, transforming into a tall, handsome man.
He wore a long tailcoat, black on the outside and red on the inside, the hem of which swayed in the wind. He was tall and straight, with light-colored hair that was almost silver, and bright red eyes that looked as if they held blood.
He slightly raised his chin, looking down at Sirion.
"Is it you who have come to see Lord Nibais, or do you seek the help of the vampires?"
The other party's arrogant attitude made Sirion frown slightly, but the striking spiritual radiance, like a red moon in the night sky, and the oppressive feeling that made him feel uncomfortable all told him that this was a true demigod!
...Besides Nibais, who had to prolong his life through slumber, there was also a demigod here.
It seems that giving Kassim Odra a stern warning today won't go too smoothly.
Composing himself, he asked the demigod opposite him who liked to look people down with his chin:
Do you know me?
The vampire demigod opposite nodded slightly with his chin:
"The progenitor rarely issues such detailed divine pronouncements; currently, the high-ranking vampires of Backlund all know about you."
"Otherwise, the vampire dukes and some marquises who haven't fallen into slumber also know."
He paused, then repeated his previous question:
"Are you here to see Lord Nibais, or do you seek the help of the vampires?"
Cyril shook his head slightly: "No, I'm just here to give a warning to a vampire who tried to steal my things."
"Impossible." The vampire demigod opposite him immediately rejected his words:
"We vampires disdain stealing."
Cyril was not surprised by the other party's reaction and explained calmly:
"What if it were an item with the 'Crimson Scholar' trait, and he were a baron who had been struggling to advance his trait?"
"The answers from spiritual mediums are truthful, and my divinations are not deceitful."
The vampire demigod frowned. Although he wanted to deny Cyrion's words, he hesitated due to Cyrion's status and asked anyway:
"Who is it?"
Cyril turned his gaze toward his back: "Here, Kasimi Audra."
A flicker of panic crossed Kasimi Audra's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure and retorted sharply:
"I haven't left the manor at all these past two days, and Count Mistral can vouch for that."
"Furthermore, even if you are someone mentioned in the ancestral oracle, you cannot so casually slander a vampire baron."
He emphasized the vampires slightly when he mentioned them.
Before him, the vampire demigod named Mistral glanced at him imperceptibly, then looked at Sirion and calmly nodded:
"Kasimi wasn't lying; he really hasn't left here in the last two days."
Cyril shook his head slightly, his gaze passing over Mistral and landing on Casimi behind him:
"I didn't say when the theft happened, much less that he came to steal it himself."
Mistral frowned, forcing himself to be patient as he asked:
What evidence do you have?
"As I just said, I'm here to give that vampire a warning, not to discuss this matter."
As he spoke, Cyril stretched out his right hand and grasped at the air, and in each of his eyes appeared an illusory book that was slowly turning.
"I came, I saw, I recorded."
In his outstretched right hand, an ancient-looking, dark red spear appeared out of thin air, its tip and hilt ablaze with clusters and specks of blood.
The Spear of Longinus!
