Chapter 30 The Library, Hermione
Chapter 30 The Library, Hermione
If he had known that Hogwarts had so many problems, he might have considered Durmstrang more.
If it weren't for the fear of being completely unaware of the situation at Hogwarts after going to Durmstrang, who would want to come to Hogwarts!
That Quirrell is a damn bastard, and that brat is no better.
In truth, if Landric didn't care about the Rozier family, Tana Rozier, or Narcissa, he could have simply ignored everything and not returned when the war broke out; the flames of war here would never reach him.
But he can't! When he first came into this world, he could be indifferent to everyone, but he can't be now!
Even though he is very guarded and was created by aphrodisiacs, he is not without emotions, just indifferent.
He couldn't let go of the love those people had shown him for ten years.
He didn't know how to love them, but he wanted them to love him.
Even a child with detached feelings will inevitably be touched after more than a decade of pampering and protection.
Once you get used to being surrounded by warm sunshine, you can never go back to the cold winter.
So Landric does everything he can to be good to Draco. He is currently unable to repay the Malfoys, so he chooses to indulge Draco.
He could sense Draco's possessiveness, disliked it, but could accept it, which allowed Draco to cling to Landric without restraint.
---------
Landric hurried into the library, and a sharp gaze immediately followed him. After recognizing the person, the gaze softened.
Mrs. Pines raised her hand, signaling Landric to be quiet.
Landric: Received!
Afterwards, I strolled around the library, mainly focusing on practical life charms. I'm not kidding, I genuinely wanted to protect my nose.
Landric slowly flipped through the books one by one, but without finding anything, so he decided to just browse around. Anyway, he was determined to find a few spells that could help him.
Then, Landric encountered "love" around the corner.
"Miss Granger?"
The girl, holding a large, thick book, looked up, saw it was Landric, her eyes lit up, and she whispered, "Landrico Rozier? Are you here to look for information too?"
Landric nodded. "Yes, I'd like to find some spells that can protect me."
"Protect yourself? Is there any danger at Hogwarts?" Hermione closed part of the book in her hand, revealing a surprised expression.
"If you encounter any difficulties, you must consult the professor."
"No, Miss Granger, this is not something the professor can solve," Landric said helplessly.
"What? Are you in any danger? Is someone trying to hurt you?" Hermione Granger looked at Landric nervously, afraid that he might be injured.
Hermione lost her voice and Mrs. Pince immediately noticed. "No loud noises allowed in the library. If this happens again, I will personally ask someone to leave."
Hermione turned to Mrs. Pince and smiled apologetically.
"You've taken Defense Against the Dark Arts class, haven't you? My nose still wants to protect itself from Quirrell's attacks."
"Uh..." Hermione didn't expect Landric to be talking about this.
Thinking of Quirrell's scent, Hermione shuddered, a look of utter disbelief creeping across her face. Oh, Merlin's socks!
She also found Quirrell unbearable; although he was a professor, he didn't act like one at all!
"Perhaps I can call you Landric? We can look for the spell you need together. Of course, you can call me Hermione..."
"Of course, Hermione."
"Let me show you around the library first. I learned about the book classifications when I came here today."
Landric nodded: "A visionary girl."
The two searched leisurely, and when they passed an area with slightly different decorations, Landric paused, then casually walked away again.
Just before dinner was about to begin, we finally made some progress.
"Ventus Purificare"
"What?"
Landric pointed to a spell in the book, which seemed to be able to help us.
Let's give it a try! The two exchanged a glance and simultaneously raised their wands.
"It works!" Landric's eyes lit up, and Hermione was overjoyed. They wouldn't have to put up with Quirrell anymore!!!
As dinner time approached, Landric realized that it was no longer appropriate for Hermione to stay with him.
"Hermione, it's time for dinner."
"let's go?"
"Okay, and one more thing... basic transfiguration requires magic as a foundation, with willpower as the guiding force. Furthermore, the incantation is the key instruction, while gestures only serve a supplementary role."
"You know I'm researching Transfiguration?!" Hermione exclaimed in surprise.
"I see, that book you're holding, 'Basic Transfiguration'."
Hermione smiled a little shyly, then turned her head and asked in a slightly expectant yet cautious tone, "Um... could I perhaps gain a deeper understanding of your detailed knowledge of basic Transfiguration? It's really important to me!"
Seeing Hermione's earnest and studious demeanor, Landric couldn't help but wink playfully and jokingly said, "Haha, sure, if needed, how about I write you a detailed academic paper?"
"Thank you so much!"
Hermione truly believed that Landric was an angel sent from heaven—exceptionally handsome, from a good family, gentle in nature, and highly knowledgeable.
perfect!
She felt that if anyone ever said that Slytherins were all bad, she would be the first to object, as this was definitely house prejudice!
--------
Landric and Hermione's late arrival attracted a lot of attention.
Many in Gryffindor and Slytherin were secretly speculating.
Gryffindor: Our little lion is amazing! He's already so pretty and charming, he's gotten close to the great beauty of Slytherin.
Slytherin: What did this stupid lion do? What special use does it have?
Landric had already returned to his seat when a voice reached his ear.
"Brother, what is it about Granger that you're particularly interested in?" Draco clenched his fists tightly, trying his best to suppress the turbulent emotions within him. A barely perceptible tension and anticipation flickered in his gray eyes.
Landric frowned slightly, shifting his gaze from the food in his hand to give Draco a cursory glance.
His cool voice seemed to carry a hint of chill: "She has good talent and is still young; these two points are enough to warrant attention." After saying that, he turned his attention back to the dining table, seemingly unwilling to discuss the topic any further.
Draco remained silent, pondering the deeper meaning behind his brother's words.
He knew that his elder brother always had unique insights and opinions, and once he made a decision, it was difficult for others to change his mind easily.
At this moment, although Landric only said these two simple words, Draco could sense that they contained much more unspoken information.
"Heh..." Draco chuckled coldly to himself; he knew his brother all too well.
Draco fell silent, his eyes momentarily darkening.
The so-called "good talent and young age" is probably just a superficial explanation. What it really means is: being young means being easily influenced; being talented means being easy to use... After all, you don't have to be the one to wield the knife.
Even though I know that, I'm still unhappy...
