Kailen returned to the Venzula Empire Academy after he completed the mission.
His name shot to the first place on the heavenly Fate rankings.
No one was surprised at this point.
Compared to killing the crown prince, becoming first place on the heavenly Fate rankings was not worth mentioning.
Had someone else become first place on the heavenly Fate rankings, several in the academy would have been shocked.
But Kailen Darkhaven was different. Achieving something like that was only natural.

Kailen was not planning on partnering with any of them in the upcoming competition. So, he did not bother to ask for their names or familiarise himself with them.
It was not because he thought they were weak.
He did not know if any of them were working secretly for the royal family.
Using emotional resonance too, didn’t give anything away or get him any results. So, he decided to be on the safer side. He would tread alone. That way, no one would try to stab him in the back even if they wanted to.
The participants were already aware of the rules of the competition.
Morgana had sent the details and competition rules to them.

The participants from the other empire academies had also been informed of the rules and the nature of the competition.
The rules and nature of the competition had also been broadcasted across online forums of the empires for citizens who were interested in watching the broadcast of the competition to familiarise themselves with it.
The participants would be sent to a place called the Meridian Belt.
The Meridian Belt was a place in outer space, 500 light years from the southern border of the Meridian Oceanic Empire.
It was a place teeming with a lot of chaotic beasts roaming outer space.
The participants would be left there to survive till five from each empire remained. The five remaining participants from each empire would be qualified to enter the special natural secret realm.
No empire academy would blame a participant or the academy of another empire for the death of their participants regardless of how the participant died, whether by the hand of a fellow participant or a chaotic beast.
A diplomatic contract had been signed by the academies of the five empires of the Tesla Domain with regards to this. This was to avoid conflicts among the empire academies after the competition.
Kailen knew that there was a possibility that the royal family had planted a mole among the top ten. Maybe he was wrong. But he didn’t want to take any chances. In a competition of this nature, it was easy for an ally to target you if you let your guard down.
Hence, he won’t associate himself with any of them in the first place. Of course there was also the possibility that the Venzula Royal Family could partner with the assassin network of another empire(s) to eliminate him during the competition. It was highly possible that a participant of another empire academy could belong to an assassin network in the empire of the academy they were representing, which had been contracted by the Venzula Royal Family to kill Kailen Darkhaven.
Kailen knew he had to be on the lookout for such a possibility during the competition.
At the moment, the Venzula Empire Academy participants had resolute expressions on their faces.
Only five of them would be alive by the end of the competition. But they would not back down. Cultivation without risks was not cultivation.

Kailen was currently seated in the lounge.
"The royal family won’t let this opportunity to attack us slip by. The top ten on the Heavenly Fate rankings are gathered in one place, alongside several professors after all. But of course, the vice principal is not the kind of person to let something of this sort slip her by. She must have anticipated such an occurrence, hence the need for all these professors to accompany us to the Meridian Oceanic Empire. Suddenly, booming sounds resounded outside the spaceship.
"As expected," Kailen thought, then took a sip of his drink.
