Chapter 618 - 618: These two really can start arguing anytime...
She remembered it clearly—back when she'd taught Mobius to apologize to Kaito by not wearing clothes, she'd even said something like that would surely keep Kaito from running off.And now, it seemed Mobius was using that very tactic again.
Oh, right...
Couldn't Kaito just conjure up clothes directly...
Wouldn't it work to simply conjure a full set of clothes onto Mobius?
Suddenly recalling this ability of Kaito's, Miko quietly thought as much to herself.
But she knew that, just as Kaito could conjure clothes onto Mobius, Mobius could just as easily take them off.
In which case, Kaito conjuring clothes onto Mobius while Mobius simultaneously stripped them off—no matter how you looked at it, that would be a very strange scene.
They hadn't already done exactly that just now, had they?
She had to admit, Miko was genuinely curious whether such a thing had happened—it was just that now clearly wasn't the time to ask.
"To actually resort to not wearing clothes—how shameless..."
"Wendy, you little brat, I can hear you."
Wendy hadn't even finished speaking when Mobius's voice came drifting out from inside the room, making Wendy instantly clam up, looking rather frightened.
This Wendy really is just a little brat...
Looking over at Wendy, who had already hidden herself behind Kaito, Miko felt that she was becoming more and more like a genuine little girl.
Even though she'd pretty much always called Wendy a little brat, a stinky little brat, she did in fact know Wendy's true identity, along with the age that surely didn't match her appearance.
"So... what should we do?" Lumine spoke up at this point, glancing at Miko as though nothing were the matter.
Because Kaito and Mobius weren't fighting right now, and because she also felt that Kaito didn't seem to particularly dislike Mobius, and on top of that since this matter involved Miko as well, she didn't reveal the truth of what had happened.
And more importantly, Mobius really had done that sort of thing with Kaito—that much couldn't be denied—it was just that she'd used certain methods to make it happen.
"Indeed, what should we do?" Miko chimed in too, then quietly watched Kaito, as though waiting for his decision.
Truthfully, Miko thought it would be better for Kaito to accept Mobius after all; she had already reached such an almost pathological extreme, and perhaps Mobius had even become like this precisely because of this unfulfilled longing.
And more importantly, Mobius was someone who researched all sorts of strange things—for the sake of Teyvat's safety, Kaito really ought to just take her in.
Of course, this was something she definitely couldn't decide on Kaito's behalf; all she could do was sneakily nudge him into a corner, and hope he wouldn't come settle the score with her afterward.
"She's setting me up." While Miko was turning things over in her mind, Kaito said this helplessly.
It's Miko who's setting you up...
Hearing what Kaito said, Lumine couldn't help but think this to herself.
"Since things have already come to this, you might as well..."
"Might as well what?" Looking at Miko, Kaito seemed quite eager to know what she was going to say next.
"Might as well let her stay for now?" Miko spoke very uncertainly, because she didn't know what Kaito was thinking.
"But... I'm worried she might do something bad to you all." After hesitating a moment, Kaito voiced his concern.
"When did I ever do anything bad to them?" At this point Mobius, who seemed to have heard Kaito speaking, fired back a question at him, drawing everyone's gaze toward the room. "At most I just tied them up—aren't they already back here safe and sound now?"
"I'm clearly the one who saved them and brought them back." In response to what Mobius said, Wendy muttered that it was she who had rescued Miko and Lumine.
"So, you two are all right, aren't you?" It was only now that Kaito seemed to register the matter of Miko and Lumine having gone missing earlier.
"There's me, the Anemo Archon, after all..."
"Of course we're fine—Lumine and I are both perfectly all right." Miko spoke up before Wendy could finish.
"Hey, hey, hey, without me the two of you would still be strung up over there."
Wendy seemed quite displeased at Miko cutting her off, and she went on: "And Miko was even wearing—"
"Ah well, we really need to hurry up and resolve this whole Mobius situation. Kaito, you've got to decide quickly—I say we let her stay for now." Miko cut Wendy off yet again.
There was no helping it; she knew what this little brat Wendy was about to say, so all she could do was cut her off first.
Oh, right...
Mobius never took the ball out of my mouth...
So how did she manage to impersonate me?
This question suddenly occurred to Miko just then, though it wasn't really something she could ask aloud.
Never mind...
I'll just ask Mobius about it later...
After thinking it over, Miko decided to go ask Mobius later—if she ended up being allowed to stay, that is.
"Wearing what?" Listening to the exchange between the two of them, Kaito asked this.
"That would, of course, be the thing Wendy wears in her mouth while she sleeps." Knowing it was bound to come out anyway, Miko decided to take Wendy down with her.
In any case, no matter what, Wendy shouldn't think she could be the only one making fun of others.
"But I only wear mine inside my room—how is that anything to do with you—"
"Wearing it is wearing it, no need to say so much." Miko cut Wendy off once again, which made Wendy quite angry.
"You stinky fox, why are you always cutting me off? Is it a guilty conscience? It definitely is." This time, seemingly afraid that Miko would cut her off again, Wendy rattled off this whole speech at an extremely rapid pace, as though accelerating.
Lumine: "..." Sigh...
These two really can start bickering at any moment...
Listening quietly off to one side, Lumine sighed inwardly.
There was no helping it; these two really were too prone to squabbling—they'd been arguing about this very thing since just a moment ago, and here they were still at it. Honestly.
Their mutual mockery over that thing had been going on continuously from earlier right up until now; she really couldn't understand why, given all this, the two of them still wore the thing.
And besides, if they were both going to use that thing, then surely it should be for communicating with each other—how had it turned into mutual ridicule? Lumine couldn't figure it out.
Could it be that I'd have to use that thing myself before I'd understand?
Turning it over and over in her mind, Lumine couldn't help but think this too.
That said, if it were a matter of her using it of her own accord, she wouldn't do it; though if Kaito were the one asking her to use it, then she could give it some consideration.
"All right, that's enough out of both of you. It wouldn't be good for someone to overhear this sort of thing." At this point Kaito stepped in to make both Miko and Wendy stop.
"In any case, Miko already went out wearing hers—she's clearly not afraid of this." It seemed Wendy still had no intention of stopping.
"You've gone and worn yours to sleep, too—"
"Have you all forgotten about me?" Mobius's voice came drifting out from inside the room.
