Destroying My Own World

Chapter 377 A diamond on a platinum plate.

Chapter 377 A diamond on a platinum plate.

Mykel stood up and approached Elestria who was looking at him in disbelief. He then wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her toward him with his cold gaze toward Beldathiel. Everyone was so confused as to what was going on, but nothing good would come the moment he was in that kind of mood.

"Only a fool who sacrificed themselves for those who aren't worth your life in comparison," Mykel looked at Elestria and didn't let her go. "I'm glad that you have decided to change, but if you think death is the way out to redeem yourself, you're just a coward," he put his hand under her chin as he stared into her eyes.

"Mykel, this is for the best..." Elestria said as she tried to make space between her and Mykel with her arms on his chest.

"For who? Me? Them? Or the people that barely contribute anything to the world. Killing a shepherd believing the sheep can live on their own, is that really what's in your mind right now?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows furrowed and looked at Elestria in disappointment.

"Then what do you want me to do? This whole situation isn't just about us here, but the fate of all humankind. I can't decide with their lives on the line," Elestria asked and showed her concern, fear, and anxiety.

Mykel chuckled softly as he showed off his gentle smile, putting Elestria a bit at ease.

"Zach, Javelin, Aston. Do you remember what I said back in the barrack?" Mykel looked at the three of them. "About burden and the easiest method to avoid responsibility?" He added.

"It's easier to speak your mind without giving thorough thoughts of the solution. If there's someone to blame, it's easier to point a finger at you," Zachary answered after he recalled what Mykel said back in the barracks.

Mykel looked at Elestria with his eyebrows raised, waiting for her to understand what he was trying to show her. She then realized what it meant, but she looked at him with a confused look not because she didn't understand but because it was quite the opposite.

"If you can't handle the burden, then I'll forcefully take it away from you," Mykel snapped his fingers and everyone collapsed to the ground. "Your path to redeem yourself is still long, Your Highness," he added as he slowly put Elestria down.

They couldn't breathe or move a muscle, but they still could hear Mykel's footsteps. Zachary was the only one who could lift his head a bit and saw Mykel approaching Beldathiel. Find more to read on My Virtual Library Empire

"It appears the one who should make the decision is incapable of giving an answer," Mykel said as he stood in front of Beldathiel. "Since I'm the only one left, it would be right if I make the decision for them, right?" He raised his eyebrows.

"Of course. I believe so too," Beldathiel smiled and found him intriguing.

Mykel appeared out of thin air and the first reaction was a grin of excitement since it had been a while since he had seen scenery like this. A being that could easily annihilate any living being in an instant, a being that he had been waiting for.

Luciel looked at Mykel and saw he was fine and unaffected by the catastrophic event. When she was about to fight him, suddenly the ambient and the sound of earth cracking disappeared. She looked around and saw everything was moving backward as if time was being rewound. She couldn't believe what she saw, and she never knew there was anyone who could manipulate not only time but also space where it didn't affect her.

"That's quite rude to suddenly come here and destroy everything in front of my eyes," Mykel said as the earth slowly fixed itself and the people that died had come back to life since the time had moved backward.

Luciel landed right in front of Mykel and she wasn't stupid enough to fight him, a being that could control the past and the future as he pleased.

"So Belda was right about you. You're with that mysterious entity," Luciel said as she put away the sword. "Why are you here? What for?" she asked as she walked closer toward Mykel without a single fear in her heart.

"I'll save the answer for later. Right now, let's make a short alliance," Mykel said as he stared into Luciel's silver eyes that looked like a diamond on a platinum plate. "Let these humans live and I will help you to kill those Gods. I won't get involved, but I will keep you alive until you achieve your goal," he suggested.

"What's the catch?" Luciel asked and stared back into Mykel's eyes where her face was right in front of his face.

"Make yourself strong enough so you can fight me with an equal footing," Mykel answered.

"An equal footing? With that kind of power you possess?" Luciel smirked with her eyebrows raised.

"This isn't my power, I'm just borrowing it from her," Mykel glanced over his shoulder where Aevia appeared from thin air. "I'm not going to use her power, I'll just fight you with only the strength I have right now," he pointed out as he looked at his right fist.

Aevia was standing right behind Mykel and wrapped her arms around his neck. Luciel looked at the woman and noticed the difference in power between her and Aevia. In comparison, she would be in the deepest ocean while Aevia was above in heaven where the distance could be infinite, an unreachable distance.

"Fine by me," Luciel said as she took a few steps back because she was terrified by Aevia's presence. "As long as you keep your word, I want a fair fight. If I win, what do I get?" she asked.

"You won't," Aevia said as she stared into Luciel's eyes, making Luciel tremble. "You will never be able to win. But, if you think you can win, I'll give you a reward that you would never imagine," she pointed out.

"Crazy couple..." Luciel scoffed. "Looks like I have no choice, so I'll accept it," she looked at Mykel.
