Mykel took his time to enjoy his cigarette as more and more dark figures appeared out of nowhere. Sasha was trying to collect her strength, but every time she regained her strength, it disappeared again. Although she struggled, she wasn’t harmed by the presence or anything, only losing her strength.
"How many times have you been trying to get through it?" Sasha asked as she went on all four to recover her strength.
"I have lost count. Also, every time I tried to walk past it and I could feel that the truth was within my grasp, that thing either sent me away or shredded my body into pieces," Mykel answered as he flicked the cigarette. "But the weird thing is that thing isn’t trying to take over my body. Its sole purpose is to protect whatever is behind it," he added as he turned around and helped Sasha get up.
Sasha’s legs were shaking but she didn’t want to fall again to prove to Mykel that she could do it even though she was still holding Mykel’s hand so tightly. She then noticed the dark figures were facing their heads at her with the same aura that they oozed.
"Are these figures the same as you?" Sasha asked.
"No, they’re my power as I said earlier," Mykel shook his head and ignored them like they were nothing to him.
"You said that you can’t control them, and yet they’re here following you," Sasha pointed out.
"Indeed, but they will obey me as long as we have the same interest. Other than that, they’re individuals that could stab me in the back anytime and the fact I can’t stop them from devouring Jeanne and the others is really pissing me off right now," Mykel answered and his voice was hiding his anger but he couldn’t do anything about it.
Sasha understood why Mykel didn’t want Elena to be there knowing he couldn’t control the power he possessed. He was afraid that Elena would be devoured if she stayed there for too long, and the fact that she possessed something that was so delicious in their eyes.
"That’s that, and now it’s time for us to see what’s beyond that darkness," Mykel said as he looked at the distance.
Mykel ordered the figures to go beyond the darkness, and all of them didn’t hesitate to walk toward it. At first, Sasha wondered why the figures followed his order until she realized that Mykel gave them the opportunity to get what was beyond the darkness for themselves. The figures were competing against each other and decided who could become the winner and became the one in charge if they managed to get the real power of [Singularity].
"Yes, and I assume you already know the state of your power and what they’re planning to do," The Lord responded as he kept his distance from Mykel because the pressure was too much for him to handle.
"Of course, and you should have known since you’re the reason why there are so many of them in the first place," Mykel nodded his head as he rested his head on his fist. "If only you didn’t run away, there would be only one of them in the first place. Now look at what you have done," he added and stared at The Lord with a cold gaze.
"There’s no if in this world, Mykel. What’s done is done," The Lord said and he knew he was at fault.
"Funny for you to say that as if you assumed there was someone that controlled not only the flow of time and events but our fate as well," Mykel pointed out with a smirk.
The Lord had been questioned about that for a while after he realized the origin of the abyss and Mykel. He couldn’t deny it because he couldn’t find the answer that could deny the logic behind what had happened. The mess that Mykel created was something he had tried to prevent, but something was preventing him from preventing that.
"What if I told you that we’re nothing but a cog in a wheel," Mykel said with his eyebrows raised. He looked at The Lord and The Lord wasn’t surprised by his words. "Looks like you already have a hunch about that," he continued.
"Even if there was, what could I do about that? I realized how insignificant I am in this twisted reality," The Lord said.
"Twisted? You’re the one who twisted the reality in the first place. You twisted the flow and you thought that won’t backfire on you? How stupid can you be?" Mykel asked back and he somehow looked a bit pissed. "You believe you’re an everlasting being? Now you know nothing is everlasting in this world, including me and that abyss out there," he added.
The Lord was a bit confused by Mykel’s words as if Mykel already knew the truth about who they were.
"Even if I did nothing, do you think the things you have prevented would just stay quiet and wouldn’t find a way to stab you in the back later?" Mykel asked as he stood up and slowly approached The Lord with his overwhelming pressure that put The Lord on the ground, succumbing to his presence. "You’re so pathetic, more than I thought," he looked down at The Lord and he could crush The Lord’s head with only his foot.
"I’m going to give you a choice. Give your life to Sasha or I’ll take it forcefully and give it to her myself. Which one would you choose?" Mykel asked.
"Before I choose, can you at least tell me what you’re planning to do?" The Lord asked as his head glued to the ground.
"What else? I’m going to break the fucking wheel," Mykel answered.
