Chapter 33: Chapter 32- Not eager?
Not so long after, Austin could be seen heading toward the school building with a content smile on his face.
Sebastian is quite a good man—he realized it again today. Not because he gave him a priceless artifact that would be quite vital for him in the future, but rather because of the trust he showed in Austin by handing him such a dangerous tool.
It wasn't like Austin was searching for validation until now; however, being regarded as a sensible person by someone whom Austin respects was quite elating.
Entering the classroom, he was about to approach Valerie and tell her about the morning...when suddenly he paused upon feeling the oppressive aura from a certain corner of the class.
He turned his eyes and found the source of such intense force was none other than his fiancée who was sitting in the front; in her usual seat rather than with him.
Approaching his beloved, Austin glanced at others and found how each student was seated on their seats rather than moving around or chatting with others as they usually do before the homeroom. Just the aura of the lady was enough to warn them.
Amidst the dark raging storms, Austin was that serene breeze that brought the hurricane to a halt,
"What happened, Val?" He asked as he arrived before her, startling Valerie.
"Ah-n-nothing. Good morning." She collected her thoughts and greeted him immediately.
She was so occupied in her thoughts that she completely missed his arrival....hm?
Ah!
Austin suddenly had a realization, "Did the teacher reject your request to change seats?" Seeing how her bag was still on her usual seat even though they promised to sit together, Austin discerned the cause of her distress.
Valerie's eyes widened as if she was being accused here. However, soon her demeanor returned to normal as she realized lying to her Lord would be a criminal act for her.
"Yes...I am upset because my request was rejected."
Austin heaved a sigh, "I guess it's because of the frequent changes of seats that other students have been making these days that the teacher deemed it wrong to let anyone have their seats changed." Austin discerned the reason for the teacher to reject something the ideal student requested.
Rudolph sneered, "It's my friend's birthday. Naturally, I will be excited."
Austin winced, "Thanks but tone it down, Rud." Tightening his hand around hers, he assured Valerie and asked Rudolph, "Did you talk to Rhea?"
Rudolph's smile broadened as he said, "It's all thanks to you that Rhea seemed her usual self. Thanks mate." He was about to give another pat on his back but stopped when he felt the threatening aura from his left.
Austin nodded, "Well, I hope next time you will be able to comfort her much better."
Rudolph grinned, "Leave it to me."
"Okay now, sit down on your seats." Along with Rhea, the homeroom professor entered the class, urging everyone to take their seats.
Rhea hurried towards her seat, which was in the front, just a seat behind Valerie, while Austin walked towards his desk, which was in the back.
The seating arrangements in the class are done based on one's ranking—and at the moment, Valerie and Austin are at the top and the bottom of the list.
After taking the roll attendance the Professor stood on the podium and said, "Before starting the class, I would like to remind you all about the assessment tomorrow."
Austin frowned as he listened to the teacher intently.
"To maintain your ranking in the class or to improve it, every month this assessment happens. If you perform well, then it will reflect in your final exam scores but if you perform badly, you might get demoted to a different section." When the Professor said that, her eyes traveled towards Austin for a moment.
The blond Prince realized that his chances of getting demoted were the highest in the class.
'Damn...gotta ace the test tomorrow!'
