Chapter 751 leaving Icethorne
Chapter 751 leaving Icethorne
Frost brought his fingers to his lips, there was a tingling sensation left because Avira attacked with a bit too much force.
'That sneaky little fox.' He said internally before breaking out into a warm smile.
She took advantage of his momentary lapse in attention to steal a kiss and then ran away before he had the chance to say anything about it.
Powerless to do anything after the fact he shook his head and lay down on the bed, staring absent mindedly at the ceiling, pondering over Avira.
"She's a real handful." He lightly chuckled before closing his eyes and returning to his blissful sleep.
Meanwhile after quickly returning to her own chambers Avira slumped down against the back of her door, her face a shade of pure crimson.
"Ahhhnnn!" She let out an embarrassed sigh as she hid her face between her knees. All her confidence and bravado crumbling the moment she returned. Just like an adrenaline filled warrior collapsing after the battle was over.
She couldn't believe the words she said, the boldness she exuded, the bravery she manifested in wearing something so provocative and most of all the daring she managed to summon when she stole that kiss.
"Ahhhnn!!" She let out another sigh as she hid her face even deeper, wishing for nothing more than to find a deep dark hole to crawl into.
While Frost may have been able to easily fall back asleep and rest peacefully she was unfortunately up for most of the night, reliving the embarrassing episode over and over and over.
Early next morning.
Frost awoke well rested and 20 minutes before his alarm was set to go off.
He stretched his body and felt as light as a feather, all the pain and injury endured in yesterday's battles gone, as if they never happened.
High level potions and a great night's sleep did wonders for his body.
"I really need to start investing in alchemy." The potency, effects and flavour of high level potions just couldn't be compared to the mid and low levels.
He was the son of the Dark God, a lofty Dungeon core with an established territory and a Fenrir girlfriend thus he really shouldn't have to cheap out with low class goods.
Unfortunately the market for such products was strictly controlled and or outrageously expensive thus limiting the effect of having a healthy coin purse.
"I should call up Wilsander at some point." Though his roster had become quite well developed over the past few months there wasn't a single species that specialised in alchemy.
His younger brother Wilsander however was a master of poisons and their antitoxins and thus had a plethora of alchemy skilled monsters to choose from.@@@@
The only problem being that not many of them could survive in such frigid temperatures. Even the warmest climate in his Dungeon was less ten degrees Celsius.
After bemoaning his shortcomings for a few seconds Frost entered the ensuite, took a boiling hot bath, got rid of any excess dirt and sweat with clean up magic, adorned his armour and robes and left the room with all his belongings.
Today he'd be leaving Icethorne and heading into the inner regions of the Glacial mountains, an environment far more treacherous and deadly than the external regions.
A few minutes before they were due to depart Duke Runak and General Jared appeared.
"Pasha I don't need to tell you how important your task is do I?"
"No War Marshall you do not." Major Pasha and those accompanying him on the journey to Karak Kanz saluted.
"By my honour we will succeed."
""By our honour"" The others mirrored Pasha's words as they bowed their heads and revealed unwavering determination in their eyes.
They must succeed in forging this alliance otherwise Icethorne and the War Ursa Battalion would be finished.
"Then I wish you safe travels my friends, for the Empire." Duke Runak knocked his arm against his armour.
"For the Empire." Every solider in the nearby vicinity chanted with pride.
Frost looked on awkwardly, he was the only outsider present.
"Hehehe relax we wish you a safe journey too Frost." Jared bellowed as he smacked Frost's back in a friendly manner.
Normally they would be more considerate of their talented guest, but the task given to Pasha and the other envoys was of the highest priority.
"Thanks Jared." Frost smiled through the pain, even his light taps were still the taps of an A-rank powerhouse.
"Don't die out there kid."
"Not planning on it."
Once the formal send-off was over Major Pasha, Frost, Kiba and the other envoys entered the eastern catacombs.
"I hope that stubborn old dwarf is open to reason." Once they left Duke Runak couldn't help but mutter.
The Ice dwarves of Karak Kanz especially the ruling caste were as stubborn as mules. Even if the offer was beneficial if they didn't like you then they'd toss you out on your ass without a second thought.
"I'm sure the king will understand the situation clearly and if he doesn't I'm sure the Grand Prince will say a few words in our favour. He holds a great amount of respect for you after all." Duke Runak and the Grand Prince of Karak Kanz had a somewhat healthy rivalry, at least in the Grand prince's opinion.
He saw the Duke as an honourable man, someone who could be trusted and relied upon when the time came.
And it was mainly because of his efforts that the relationship between Karak Kanz and Icethorne remained neutral despite the conflicts in their economic interests.
"Haaaaa that's wishful thinking Jared." Duke Runak sighed and shook his head.
"Though our relationship can be considered friendly that's only on a purely personal level. He's not foolish enough to let such a private affair affect the rise and fall of his nation."
He shared respect for the Grand Prince and because of that he understood him. He would not vouch for their alliance just because of their own friendship.
